Brownish color. Some charming, sweet and sappy Volnay spice and red fruit but lots of sous bois and "lemon pledge" porty fruit character. More agreeable on the palate where an abundance of structure and drying tannin keep the fruit a bit more tame. Good elements here, but probably was never a complete wine, and if this bottle is indicative one that’s clearly on a downwards slope now.
