W venison pie!! Yummy dish we havent had for long time. Venison from deer shot on property. Decided to drink more Craig wines after speaking with Rachel at the winery - Rachel is a very good salesperson. The wine is very CaliCab (vanilla) but very good. Color still dark, nose very subdued (even after 3 hour decant), palate a bit dry at first; but glass 2 the fruitier. Flavors of fruit and spice. Very good. Will live a few more …

Superb Howell Mountain cabernet. Perfumed, complex, depth, powerful and long and at the same time, light-footed. Rush of red fruits across the palate with just enough tannin to tickle the senses on the way down. Spicy notes on the nose and palate. A great choice for Valentine’s Day- it was more than worthy!

Opened and decanted a few hours ahead of seared fillet off the grill. Dark violet color. Nose brings intense raspberries, dried leather, and some eucalyptus and sweet tobacco. The palate is is full, round, tangy, and textured, bringing a nice mature core of black and red fruit with pronounced savory notes (soy, olive, mushroom, green pepper) on the back palate and lingering baking spices on the refined, tannic finish (cinnamon, cherry cobbler, and vanilla). Decanted for two hours. The entry carries on to the long, gliding finish. There’s a purity and many a nuance. Dark berries, chocolate pudding, red licorice, Spring flowers and vanilla. Full, with verve and purpose. Microfiber tannins. Another fine Affinity. Drink now - 2030.

deep dark garnet. Nose of black cherry,' baking spices, oak, alcohol. Palate is med alcohol, high acid, big dark cherry, chocolate, tannins coming into balance. Nice one. Not worth the price but will get a little better with a few more years.

Slightly acidic on the nose despite a 3-hour decant and pouring it through an aerator. A little fruit in the glass but not much complexity, though it opened up a bit more after a while. This has a low QPR and it's okay but I would not buy it again. There are lots better available cheaper or near the same price.
