I waited a year to open a second bottle of this; consistent with my notes of last August, below. A great Oregon pinot, exuberant, almost fleshy, as complex in its rich balance of basalt minerality, fennel/licorice , and concentrated cassis/ black cherry liqueur as GC Gevrey. I will try to wait another year before opening my last bottle, knowing that it will improve for another 5-10. Wonderful tonight with char grilled picanha steak, and toasted pecan/arugula/pumpkin seed/basil pesto.

Shimmering garnet, almost electric in the glass. Deep bouquet: black cherries, raspberries, wet metal, cardamom, floral pink peppercorn. Big, rich, and long with more minerality than acid to hold the sweet, expansive black and red fruit in balance. A creamy one minute finish, where the basalt and alterite minerality really shine, in a cinnamon and charred cherrywood frame. A scant 148 cases made, and a perfect companion for grilled salmon, with any level of spice, even black vinegar and fish …
