vibrant color, jammy, legs. Good drinkable red for afternoon or evening when it's not important to pair nicely. Easy and fun.

Very "Runquist", with overdeveloped fruit and oak, but still manages to please those looking for hedonism. Fun wine when in the mood and a good value at $13.

A nice blend. A taste of black fruits, raspberry and vanilla oak aroma. High Tannins. A little paler than I imagined that it would be. However, it does display a bright violet color.

Interesting Zin Syrah Bsrbera blend, not much on the nose, palate sings with big jammy, juicy black fruits hints of oak and violet. Nice medium finish.

Bam! For those who love a fruit bomb that is an easy drinking wine, this is it. Loved the blackberry jammy smell and mouth feel. Short on the finish but paired well with a bison burger and BBQ sauce. Definitely a great buy for those who love this style.

Just the fruit bomb I've been looking for. Luscious, jammy and a big crowd-pleaser. Pleased for $17.

Black fruits interlaced with vanilla and spices. Smooth texture and rounded tanins. This is a great wine for the price. Benefits from decanting.

Tasted blind alongside Runquists's "R" petite sirah. This is about 85% of that wine, but an excellent value at $18 compared to $30. The color of 1448 is slightly paler and less opaque; the nose is slightly softer, and fruitier. The viscosity or "legs" are slightly thinner, and the fruit concentration and tannins are slightly less. But, it has very much the same characteristics, with plenty of vanilla from American oak. If they were not side by side, it would …

Bright violet color, big oaky nose, big extracted fruit and loads of vanilla from the oak. This is a big new world wine, and good in that regard, but its not really my thing

Dark purple, completely opaque. Very pronounced aroma of earthy syrah with plenty of sweet American oak. Big time fruit flavors, really coats the tongue and lasts forever. Again, much sweet oaky flavors. Moderate tannin but not out of balance. High alcohol but not obtrusive. The aftertaste keeps going on. This is a real fruit bomb, very pronounced, an incredible wine for $18. We'll try it blind along with its big brother, "R" petite sirah.

Incredible wine for the price. Dark purple, completely opaque. Pronounced toasty vanilla oak aroma with cassis and raspberries. Full but smooth flavor, lots of red and black fruits, sweetness of American oak. Plenty of tannin but didn't interfere with enjoyment of the fruit. Similar style to a good Penfold's Grange (drank the '97 last night), for a small fraction of the price. At $17, this is amazing!

I love what I see from this producer, the varietals, the documentation, and most of all, the passion. I've tasted this wine twice in the past 2 weeks. Once among 30 wines, and once on a private terrace, this being the lead wine. I'm totally impressed by the almost huge, oaky, fruity nose. There is super rich dark purple color. Unfortunately, the fruit does not deliver across the palate as the nose would indicate. Starts out as a big fruity, …

Not bad. Cost $14 vs Robert Mondavi Meritage which was $10. Shirley liked it, I thought the Meritage was fine for the saving in $. On further tasting, we've upgraded this wine to an 85. It's a great full bodied blend, as opposed to a mid-bodied blend like 14 Hands or Old Vine Red. An excellent choice.

Simple but delicious straightforward Zin blend. Heavy on the oak but well balanced overall.

Purple-red in the glass. Strong oak and vanilla nose mixed with black berry, and slight earthiness. Palate brings jammy bright fruit and more nose qualities. Not very intriguing or complex, but drinks easily. Don't think we'd buy this again. It drinks like a very good $8-$10 bottle.
