** (+ some) My first Soave. Another medium weight Italian white that really grabs me. Good right off. Still very fresh, full of character, great length and balance. Declarative but intriguing too. Went well with crab cakes. Can't complain about the QPR either. Cork was sticky and crumbly. Had to strain through a paper towel but that didn't seem to hurt it.

This has grown since the last bottle noted back in January 2016. Typical green spicy garganega. Clean, fresh, round and with a good length. Surprised at the positive development. At peak, I would say. Very good.

Nice dry wine at a budget price. Combined it with musles (150 cc went into the cooking, but it was well spent.

Cellar tasting at Monte Tondo winery (Soave) : Nose: Grassy, gooseberries, grapey. Taste & palate: Fruity, medium body, slight bitterness to balance. Nice Soave.

Its nose showes distinct fragrances of apple seeds, green apples, some moist cellulose, plenty of grass, a few almonds and some mild spiciness. On the palate there were rather bold aromas of gooseberries, green apples, some pickles and a few resinous flavours. For an entry level wine it was …
