Paired with Tourtine same vintage. Still plenty of red in the colour. Vibrant nose tighter and more fruit than Tourtine. Explosion of flavour with elegance and balance. God finish. Lovely wine and much better than Tourtine tonight.

I enjoyed this bottle more than the previous. Bottle variation? Or perhaps a function of pairing; succulent lamb this time? The wine is not big and is discreet but it is harmonious and I now found the flavours delightful. The description in my last TN is not bad if shorn of the reference to dullness. Very Good.

All the components were there for an enjoyable Bandol; medium+ body, rose note, balsamic, herbal, tar and anise touches together with some fresh acidity but somehow the whole lacked inspiration. Maybe like some people, this bottle, while remaining in good health, was become dull with age. Still good but I wanted more.

Not bad, but not as impressive as the Cuvee Speciale from 1998, in this vintage the high part of cinsault is in my mind slightly dilutive. But a good drink ? Yes !
