Hmm... a nice, smooth, rhubarby and red-fruited pinot perhaps a year or two past most people's peak, including mine.

Light red in color. 14.5% ABV. Stunning nose of red fruits, cloves and damp forest floor. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Impressively concentrated. Well balanced and fruit forward. Bing cherry, cranberry, pomegranate and earth on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Such a stellar bottle of the Estate Pinot Noir from a less than optimal vintage. So much to like here. Best over the next several years.

Lush and inviting aromatics: ripe black cherry, baking spice and clove. Screams RRV with the balance of fruit and terroire. Well integrated and full-flavored on the palate. More ripe cherry, cranberry, strawberry and forest floor on the palate. Silky finish. Drinking extraordinarily well now.

Light red in color. 14.5% ABV. Drop dead gorgeous nose of red fruits, baking spices and forest floor. Light to medium body with medium acidity. Delicate and ethereal. Cranberry, strawberry, cloves and earth on the palate. Nice length on the finish. Super showing for the Estate Pinot Noir from an underwhelming vintage. Bodes so well for the single vineyard designates. Drink over the next 2-3 years.

At home with burgers, been a little while since I visited this wine. A good entry level wine from Rochioli. Splash decanted and drank over 2 hours. Medium ruby color. Nose of red fruits, baking spice and "cookie dough" as pointed out by Meredith a few years ago (still there today...) Palate of ripe red fruits, baked strawberry, rhubarb, vanilla, spice. Tart red fruit characteristics on the back palate. Medium weight, nice layered finish. Tight at the outset, this really …

Had this with Turkish food in a restaurant. A very good match. Not too big and clunky, but it stood up to the sauce and spices in the food.

Even drinking better than the last bottle, with more hints of vanilla and spice on the finish than I remember.

At home post dinner w Val/Suzy/Kathy. PnP, drank over an hour. Consistent with prior notes: "...red fruits and baking spices. Palate of tart red fruits, rhubarb, strawberry, vanilla. A sweetness on mid palate that makes this a charming wine..." Picked up a little more of the vanilla and baking spices on this one (from memory).

Nice if somewhat simple red fruited wine. Never really developed much complexity but held up well over 3 hours. Enjoyed by everyone but #2 behind '11 WS Bucher.

Definitely a bit riper with candied cherry on the nose and palate, but has enough structure to pull it off. Drinking well and will probably drink the remaining bottles over the next year.

Surprisingly ripe and round given the cool year. Medium-full body and medium+ acidity, exhibiting notes of maraschino cherries and spices, and menthol after 20 minutes. A touch of heat on the finish from the 14.5% ABV. Loses some sweetness about one hour in, thus becoming more balanced -- even more so 160 minutes in, at which point it exhibits unexpected mesquite smokiness. In a great place right now.

Started a bit closed and muted but after about 30 min all that rose petal and cherry came through beautifully with Thanksgiving

Enjoyed with a nice meat lasagna. Deep ruby red color. Spices on the nose and the palate. Nice finish with obvious tannins. Rochioli... a class Pinot producer.

Ligher garnet in the glass, subtle nose of cherry and woody notes, Burgundian in style with restrained red fruits, pencil shavings and a hint of smoke.

A very good Pinot, particularly for the vintage. Flavors consistent with others' tasting notes: red fruits, bright cherry, baking spices and an floral element. Superb. Wish I had more. Drank with grilled cedar plank salmon and roasted garlic potatoes. Awesome.

Almost a year later, this wine is proving to be a dud. Almost no acidity, suggesting it is hitting its peak. The 'peak' in this case is one-dimensional berry flavors. Maybe a passable quaffer in the $15 range, but $40? I'm paying for the label.

Good but not great; clearly, this is Rochioli's basic, lower level wine. Burgundian style Pinot.

Definitely on the lighter side of Rochioli's lineup, but it still displays the classic cherry/red berry flavors. The spiciness is far more subtle, while the acidity is more pronounced. That said, this a nicely balanced wine. Not a cocktail Pinot, but rather a charmer in more of an old-world Burgundy style.
