Beautiful fine bead full mouthfeel with great fruit, acidity and length, improved with time. Lovely.

Reductive, good acidity and nuts. A bit in the Selosse style.

Delicious. This tastes a little flabby upon opening, but the aromatics jumps out of the glass. With air, it fills out in the mouth gaining richness.

In a lovely spot. Subtle, elegant fruit, a touch copper color in the glass. Lovely with oysters and other Christmas aperitifs. Think this vintage in zone and would enjoy over next few years

Occasional dinner group. (@ JvT) : Some medicine/clove, good and fresh acidity, beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness and a great length. Still very youthful and fresh. Delicious Champagne.

France 2024; 6/23/2024-6/29/2024 : PnP. Nice creamy mousse and good acidity. Continued to open up with air and the nose just blossomed by the end of the night. A very nice wine ready to drink, but open early.

The most balanced and ready for early drinking on this occasion. Walking the line between red berries and white orchard fruit, like tart red apple, white strawberries, and blush pink cherries with minerality, toast points, blood orange, and sweet white flowers.

I did not enjoy this as much as other tasters, finding it quite austere without the complexity or power to make up for it. Cinnamon and apple.

Pale gold, active fine bead at first but dropped away, intense bread/yeast/autolysis on the nose, balanced palate but acid not as forward for me as recent reviewers but still great.

Piemonte: Truffles instead of Turkey; 11/23/2023-12/2/2023 (Barolo, Barbaresco, Alto Piemonte and of course Alba) : Ah these wines. I love them and you see them less and less these days which is unfortunate. So very fun to find in Piemonte on the menu and just generally very interesting. This is a lovely wine. It was a bit cold to start but opened up with some time in the glass. A full style of champagne that just kept getting better.

Just plain exceptional. Love this wine. Bummer it’s harder to get and more expensive. This is a real crowd pleaser. Light lime and pear in the palate. So balanced.

Wines you should have bought by cases (San Shu Gong) : Believe this is from 2007 vintage. Nutty, hint of white flower, banana. Drinking well now.

This is amazing. Wonderfully balanced. Lot of red apple, lite acidity and tannin. Just wow, little brioche to round out the fruits

Holy smokes this was amazing. Started with honey and really great acidity. Added some baked bread, those round breast cookie things. Finally added some green apple after a couple hours. Amazing rich color and so much body. Really spectacular.

in a really nice place right now. Lovely ripe fruit initially on the front of the tongue, followed in the back by a really nice toffee and brioche note. It’s really nicely balanced, still with really good acid on the finish. I can never really decide if I prefer these younger or aged, they provide very different enjoyment but delicious either way.

Piemonte: Back to the truffling!; 11/24/2022-12/3/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants) : Used to see a ton of Cedric Bouchard around but the allocations seem to have dried up so it was fun to find on a list in the town of Barolo. 2019 disgorgement. This was very toasty, brioche, maybe a bit of butter. Light bodied though despite that. Drinks nicely. A bit of a crispness to it that needed to soften in the glass.

Light golden color. Fresh aromas of cinnamon, citrus blend, ripe golden apples, chalk, and brioche. Nicely balanced acidity, fine bead, precise flavors of subtle citrus, macadamia nut, and an abundance of apple and pear. Extremely satisfying!

Mature fruit, a mix of bruised and non bruised yellow apples, some depth, rounded and mellow. Nothing to age further.

Very bright and fresh. Citrus, pear, toasty brioche, and a smoky top note. Delicate, fine mousse and a creamy finish. In a lovely place right now.

Pop and pour. In the glass, light-to-medium gold, with very fine bubbles. On the nose, equal parts baked bread and lemon juice. On the palate, full bodied yet energetic and crisp, with ample lemon (and perhaps a touch of pineapple) cutting through the mix. This came across as a younger and fresher champagne than expected - it's in a nice place right now.

Greatest Hits of the 80s! (La Trompette) : A real charmer. Lightly smoky on the nose, with a hint of vanilla and then something almost floral but actually more reminiscent of the flowers' discarded stems and leaves. Yellow apple, a honeyed finish and very well integrated acidity demonstrated clear influence of time in bottle, but there was still plenty of energy and the wine filled the mouth nicely. In a good spot - extremely drinkable.

Had the 2015 vintage last year and loved it. This is 2010, disgorged in 2014. Low dosage and reduced carbonation which makes it even more vinous. Very delicate aromas of almond, grapefruit even small sweet strawberries. Very fine mousse - almost like a still wine. Notes of honey, lemon peel, light chalk and still a bit saline. Bottles drunk with lunch or dinner while in Burgundy; 2/10/2020-2/14/2020 (Burgundy) : A rare grower who's wines are consistently on point for my palate. Lovely combination or richness and precision (without being overly taut and fruit-stripped, my complaint with most grower-esque bubbles). Terrific density and palate energy throughout. 90-91

Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France) : At La Maison du Colombier. Doesn't show much of the greenness of the vintage here, which I quite like, but broadly speaking, this has some more of the white grape flavour than I'd have expected. Slightly coarse mousse but overall drinking nicely.

2011 base I think. Beautiful vinous edge with a lot of varietal Pinot character shining through. Has a fair bit of roundness on the palate suggesting a high dosage, but apparently that’s not the case - Just riper fruit. I do like the generous texture but I find the balance not quite there, it’s a bit wonky. With time the brioche/bakers yeast jumps out quite a bit and obscures the fruit a bit.
