delicate soft burgundy thats perfect for sipping and drinklng very well now....the color is like a light caramel red port...a bit deceiving from the pinots we are used to...but then the taste is all pinot and uniquely upstate New York....without the harshness, over fruitiness, and earthiness of some welll know pinot noir locations... so definitely a return engagement - if u can find it due to its limited release and distribution.....

BYO'd at Racines NY, this was the first red opened based on the expected weight, and sure enough this was quite light. Very pleasant wine with firm acid, red fruit, and hints of spice. Very light, however, and lacking in flavor intensity - could have fared better perhaps with a slight chill on a warm day.

Pouring extremely pale, the pleasant and modest nose offers ripe, dark cherries, nutmeg, cardamom, orange zest and wet Earth. The body is medium in weight with delicate tannins. The acid comes in the form of juicy cherries and raspberries, and it finishes with very pleasant baking spices. Not a particularly complex pinot, but everything about it is enjoyable. Consumed over six hours and it continued to smooth out, though I don't think this needs to age.
