Bright red and black berries throughout with plenty of acid and a further brightening burst of acidity from the middle forward. Lively and fresh with good weight and length. I was always a fan of St. Innocent’s Anden, and this brings back good memories.

This needed about an hour after opening to begin to show what it’s really made of. Not as polished as 2016, but very pleasurable nonetheless. nose showing red fruit, baking spices, a woodsy dare I say maybe even cedar-ish note. Palate still has great balance between the acidity and tannins. Showing well but lots of life left and id bet it gets better with some more age.

Gone, was any evidence of fruit or any marked level of acidity. Tasted thin; somewhat simple and non-descript. However, the aromatics were nice and continued to blossom throughout the bottle. Underwhelming from this producer and at the price point, clearly not a good value; contributing to my lower score.

Absolutely delicious PN, somewhat in a richer style, but not at all over the top. Really gorgeous and dense, definitely on the dark fruit spectrum, spiced blueberry or black plum with a good dose of root beer or even almond. Despite the richness, it doesn't feel hot or "soft"- it's plump, but still very elegant and lithe. Really solid acidity holding down the fort- of course less than the Fourrier we drank next to it, but it's a very complete …

Nice enough pinot. A bit of cola and fairly rich texture made me guess RRV blind. I suppose it was a bit lacking in depth and complexity for that. Alcohol in check, pleasant, but not on par with the 2016 I tasted recently which showed a lot more herbal nuance.

My least favorite EL of the 2012-2017 vertical tasting. This was noticeably tart and the easiest wine to identify blind, it was so tannic and simply not ready to go like all of the other wines. I would not pursue this one again, it just was not of the same class as every other wine we tried.

Drank for my 58th BDay. I was hesitant because of the sub-standard ratings on this forum. However, after experiencing this bottle, I tend to disagree with those because what we got was a nose and mouthful of prominent fruit; balanced nicely by acidity. The weird thing is/was that my final glass displayed a tart/funky acidity?

Medium light ruby turning transparent toward the rim with medium plus alcohol on the legs. The nose gives off ripe red cherries, smoke, and some leafy character. I won’t be surprised if some stem was included in the fermentation. The body is medium on the palate with some tannin that saturates above and sideways, probably caused by stem inclusion.
