From magnum. Delicious, more delicate than les Clos I’ve had from Fevre, a wine of nuance more than of power. Very good over several days, after decanting into half bottles. Worth the tariff? Unsure. Pricing now for Burgundy, and especially white Burgundy makes this bottle a relative bargain, but I’d be content with a Montée from a good vigneron at half or two thirds the cost.

Beautiful color, fresh fruit jumped from the bottle when uncorked. Great balance.

Decanted this magnum into 375s and drank over two weeks. Very fresh, excellent sour acidity, as you'd expect with a good, aged GC Chablis. Beautiful color. No notes, but a fine bottle. First year, I believe, that C. Moreau bottled this GC under its own label.

Picked the lighter (holding bottles in front of light) of two remaining bottles. Was very pleased with how this showed. No premox at age 15. Color was relatively light. Nose displayed fresh salt/ocean smells intertwined with a slightly cheesy/lactic note. On the palate, rich and ripe, showing some aged sweetness. No sherried notes at all. A touch of bitterness on the back end. Overall, I was very pleased with this excellent showing!

Excellent showing this time around, focused and precise and at peak form. Not as ripe and tropical as some other 2002's, more of a classic representation. Better with some air and as it warmed up a tad.

My best bottle of the lot. Dark straw color, no signs of pre-mox. Nose showed good stone, light citrus and wood notes. Palate was still intact, with white flower, mineral, stone, nuts, some vanilla and aged oak. Definitely drink if have in cellar.

Dinner at RY's (Vancouver, BC) : My favorite of the flight. The last bottle from the same source was advanced but this bottle was excellent and in perfect form. Lemon, saline and hints of nuts with an overall richer profile than the Brocard. There’s excellent acidity and minerality here. Based on this bottle you could age this another 5 years easy but it’s showing very well at the moment. Excellent.

Very similar to my first bottle, flat on both nose and palate. No acid or structure - olive oil, hazelnut, and wood are the primary flavors.

Dinner with the Boys (Bistro Pastis) : Tasted blind. Brief notes. Maturing nose with richness and medium acid. Hints of oxidation on the finish. Everyone thought that this was older than it was and I didn't find too much Chablis typicity either. A nice wine just more advanced then it should be.

Second bottle of a 4 bottle lot and a contrast to my first bottle. Nose is somewhat muted, with hints of white flower, citrus peel, grand mariner and schist. Palate is round and mature, with soft marmalade, more orange peel and a hint of stoniness. A much better bottle than my first.

Was afraid of oxidation so taken now. Tight, almost closed on the nose. Therefore poured into a burgundy glass, and gained from that. Some citrus, mint, spice, slightly bitter finish, oysters; moderate maturity, a hint of sweetness. Powerful.

Very similar to the William Fevre 2002 but without as much complexity. Fairly short finish. Good minerality and fruit still there, but not complex enough for Grand Cru.

Brown Bag Wine Dinner at Two Chefs (TWO CHEFS, MIAMI, FL) : The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are slow. It smells like lemon, orange, chrysanthemum and oak. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity. Pablo nailed it.

Disappointingly flat and viscous. Heavy for a chablis, reminding me of a CA Chardonnay. Elements of oak, olive oil, and some sharp bitterness at times. Finish diminishes quickly with little discernible to note.

Certainly this has reopened after that shy last bottle, maybe even getting near to peak maturity. The color has deepened to a (fortunately age-appropriate) yellow and it has a thicker, creamier body than I ever remember on this, but it's still plastered with those oyster shells and sandy beach characteristics, still textbook Chablis.

Souper chez Vincent avec Martin L. et Alex B. : Un nez discret de yogourt à la vanille.... la bouche montre une superbe texture, c'est gras et assez puissant, d'une bonne longueur structurelle, mais à l'expression aromatique très discrète, voire muette. Pour la texture: 91 pts...il pourrait devenir franchement superbe s'il sortait de sa coquille....Il parait encore bien jeune donc la chose n'est pas impossible.

Another great dinner with some good wine (EL Ideas - Chicago IL) : Apple and spice aromas. Plenty of acid on palate came through right way on palate, equally prominent with the fruit today. This is at a very good place right now.

Another 10yr old chablis in perfect condition. Greenish gold color. Sea shell nose with some vanila. I really loved the elegance, minerality and ripe citrus fruit. Only detractor was some oak still not integrated but overall very cool Chablis. I'll roll the dice and wait a yr or 3 to drink my last blt.

Opened and served right away. Light to medium yellow. Nice colour. Nose is quite pronounced right out of the gate with notes of nuts, seashells, saline and soft lemon. Slightly rich flavours with decent minerality and great acid. Medium bodied. This bottle may have been showing a bit more age than I would have expected but nowhere near being oxidative. Drinking very well now. Excellent.

This bottle was somewhere in between the 2 other bottles I've had in the past year. An initial burst of oxidative notes gave way to a fresher, saline, typically Chablis nose which progressively improved over 90 minutes. Rich and flavorful but lacking acidic bite, intensity and minerality. The palate remained somewhat plodding and dull, never achieving the interest of the aromatics. Just not very exciting and definitely not a classic Clos.

This wasn't giving up a lot on the nose; a slightly muted slate and citrus tone but that's about it; on the palate however...wow; rich, round viscous and long; more citrus and rock but the mouth feel was unlike anything I can remember; a little more on the nose and this would have been three or more points higher in my book.

straw, pale yellow. lemon zest, soft sherbet, white blossoms, rich and pure. strong full flavours, well integrated, crisp, focussed, long zesty finish, lemon curd, mineral spice, lime zest, classic profile, deep and impressive power, lovely.

An almost overpowering blast of cool, intense, noble liquid stone gradually opens into luscious fruit of unmistakable Chablis character just barely sliding into maturity. Very impressive and showed no signs of wear in the four hours it survived our event.

Drank the last two bottles and they changed my opinion entirely. Perfectly integrated. Lots of stone. Crisp. Not old at all.

Unlike the Montee de Tonnere, this is completely shut down, not showing anything whatsoever besides a vague notion of density. The crushed seashells that spackled this wine from top to bottom on release and gave it a texture more like sand than wine are now completely absent.
