Very slight rust. Crystaline candied red and black fruit aromas. Earth and mushroom then cola and cherry. Mellow entry. Lavender and moss mix with the cherry coke. Strawberry rhubarb pie. Nice density on the solid finish.

Much prettier than previous version of this wine, which is often much inferior to its first-born older brother Rhys. Delicate notes of faded cherries, rhubarb, and strawberries. Clean finish.

Slightly candied cherry and pomegranate, a little simple but pleasant and not showing too much age.

The cork just rips to shreds on this bottle, I seem to remember this issue with older Alesias. Strained the wine into glass, the color is ruby salmon and the nose is awesome with raspberries, garden roses, and slate. The palate is supple with minerally red fruit, oak spices, and an herbal stemmy finish. With plenty of life left this wine bodes very well for the ageability of wines in the Rhys' stable. Thanks for setting up the virtual offline …

There is some volatility on the back end of this that was a little distracting. But there was a very nice Pinot in front of that showing some classic Sonoma Coast notes. This is certainly in that 'drink up' window. Not my favorite vintage for this bottling at any stage.

This is the best bottle of Alesia Pinot Noir I have had. It is smooth, silky and balanced with just the right amount of sweet fruit to make it delicious. This was the last of my two bottles and I am ver sad that they are gone.

American Pinot - a much needed education : easily the youngest of the 5 - and not just by age. Lost of structure that needed time - especially on the first night. Day 2 was calmer - and cleaner. Raspberry and sour cherry, floral notes - roses, def a Cali profile though light and sleek. mid has great balance of ripe cherry and acidity. long finish with a hint of sweet fruit and spice. Lovely stuff. glad to have held …

Afgan Kebobs - Home away from Home : rosehips, dry flowers, this wine is at peak but not in danger of going downhill. ripe fruit with berries and spices dominating. resolved mid - touch of secondary and tertiary underneath the cherries. earthy. lovely pinot! I continue to enjoy Kevin's work... and am glad i have this and others in the cellar.

Medium ruby color. Nose of mineral, cardamom, red berries, and floral notes. Full bodied and silky on the palate, well balanced with good presence.

Muted on initial opening, but comes alive after an hour or so. Earth, strawberries, cola, and wonderful coffee notes on the nose. The fruit and cola come across nicely on the palate. Nice acidity. Medium length finish with some leather notes. This wine has a few years left, but is in a really nice spot right now. Score upon opening: 91. After some time: 94. Delicious.

Lovely fruit in its prime drinking window. The style is finesse rather than brawn. Excellent pairing for salmon or pork chops.

PnP (felt 'open' pretty quickly). I would say this is more developed compared to my note of last year. Almost precise red berry fruit, background stem note is still there which accentuates the spice notes in a nice way. Palate almost bathes the mouth with expressive fruit that is elegantly focused by the acidity with a sliver of mineral. Tannins are there, but a bit soft. Compared to a SC Rivers-Marie opened the night before this had more textural depth …

Always impressed with fruit from this vineyard. Finely crafted with well integrated tannins, red fruit and complex finish. Sad this wine is no longer produced by Rhys. Look for this fruit in vineyard designate wines from Red Car and Kutch!

Popped and poured, nice dark ruby red, slightly cloudy with a fair amount of spice. I bit of a strange funk on the finish, almost a slight corky-ness, but not enough to effect my enjoyment.

Medium ruby red color with moderate transparency. Aromas of smoke, celery, cherry, and strawberry-rhubarb pie. Palate has sweet tobacco, celery, smoky cherry, and strawberry elements that lead into a medium finish. Decanting for an hour helped this and it held interest over a couple of days, leaning out and showing more tart cherry and cranberry fruit notes as it sat open in the decanter in the cellar. Drink.
