ABV: 13.8%. Note: This bottle was opened yesterday (4/22), but I didn’t have time to write down any taste notes so these notes are from today, approximately 24 hours after the bottle has been opened. Lots of bright red fruits on the nose (think cherry, raspberry, cranberry, etc.) with spice and herbs in the background. Note from 2nd day...corked on counter overnight. Tea and fig on the nose. Palate of currant and raisin (this flavor a little more dominant than on day 1) as well as tea and tobacco. Well balanced and delicious right now, but probably yet has opportunity to improve with a few more years.

Light red, a little cloudy. An unusual nose for a PN, pear/strawberry combo?! yet still with a pinot background. Astringent and austere in mouth, totally lacking in the hoped for velvety texture of pinot noir. I wonder if this was a wine from very young vines.

Seems to be improving, this was mellow, almost sweet, and fruity. Vibrant currant, cherry, and blueberry flavors with crisp acidity and just a hint of wood. Finish was moderate, I was pleased.

While nose has bright strawberry fruit, it has a definite Burgundian Pinot-funk to it. I was hoping for a fruit dominated Cali-style Pinot. Definitely strong flavors, glad I paired it with food.

Would give this an 86 on the first day, but we left it open and returned to it in 24 hours. It was then much softer, and the delicate fruit began to shine. It is a very nice wine, but VERY extracted for a pinot. Not sure if this is a traditional presentation of this varietal.
