Middle-Earth, Sauvignon Blanc, Nelson

This was from a K&L Wines subscription. Aromas of grass, green pepper, elderflower, and chalk on the nose translate over to a palate where a crisp crabapple tartness also resides. Okay. Typical NZ sauvignon blanc, although not as fruit forward as expected.

Nelson - a little bit warmer and humidity. And A little bit more jalapeno on the nose as well. Basil. They like that the wines are a bit rounder and richer. Still NZ SB but just a touch more mineraility and generosity on the palate.

This pale yellow/green wine offers vibrant aromas and flavors of gooseberry, lime, tangerine, ginger and mango. Light-bodied, freshly acidic, unoaked and with unnoticeable alcohol (listed as 12.5%), it has good presence on the mid-palate and closes with a crisp, medium-length finish.
