France Trip Part 3 - Burgundy; 6/20/2006-6/23/2006 : Barrel sample tasted at the domaine w/ Thibault Liger-Belair. From purchased grapes. Funky animal nose that quickly blew off. Big, smoky, and brambly. Lush raspberry fruit. Excellent minerality. Ripe, firm tannins. Excellent.

Tasting at Thibault Liger-Belair : Tasted at the domaine. The nose was very expressive with black fruit and an enticing earthiness. Great texture and very well balanced. More tannic than the preceding wines. This should be exceptional.

Tasted at the domaine. Like the Chambolle "Gruemchers" tasted before this wine, this is made from purchased grapes. 70 year old vines. 18 hl / ha. Deeper on the nose. Blanced. Tick, rich. Suave texture. Long finish.
