Fairly simple but reliable, and darn cheap at $15. Some moderate acidity, no redundant ripeness, with a short finish.

Sour cherries with unresolved tannins. Bitterness diminished with about 30 minutes of air in glass, but still detracting from the wine. Not very good IMO, but at $16, I have had worse Chianti.

Relatively simple but good for the price. Definitely accessible even if with some unresolved tannins.

Nice straight-forward Chianti, a bit overrated by Parker I believe. Once it opened up it had some nice cherry notes, however not the depth and intensity described. Rustic and well-rounded as you would expect for a well-made Chianti, nothing out of the ordinary however. As this price point, I would say it was average.

When does a grape taste like a cherry? When it's fresh Sangiovese from Chianti. This one is cherries galore, with a pleasant whisper of funk showing up with extended air. $15 never tasted so good.
