Similar to 5/11/14 note. Tastes flattened out a little in the last glass.

Decanted for 2 hrs. Tastes of dark fruits, plum & a hint of chocolate. Not as good as previous bottles. Tastes were inconsistent and not as vivid.

Slow ox'd day one and consumed over three days. Day one was quite good (91). Circumstances led to missing day two. Day three was exceptional. The fruit had become more saturated, more mouthcoating, more forceful. The structure now fully integrated. An unexpected turn from warm and friendly to power and finesse.

Decanted for an hour or so. While full bodied, this slinks across the palate with surprising grace and shows a well integrated streak of acidity that keeps it fresh and tidy. Dark red fruits dusted in cocoa powder with creamy minerality and some background mourved funky brambles and earth. Another fine effort from this underappreciated producer.

Vinturi'ed & decanted for 2 hrs. Recently the wine maker, Ryan Pease, told us that the 2011s are drinking well right now and I agree. Nice big nose of dark fruits. Tastes of dark fruits, cherries, plums. Consistent tastes throughout the bottles. One of the best, if not the best, 100% Mourvedre's I've had.

Slow-O for 1 1/2 hours, consumed over 2+ hours with not-too-spicy baby back ribs (a good match). All imposingly rich, creamy red fruit and a bit of chocolate at first, showing somewhat simple and zinfandel-like out of the gate. Over time, though, the nose and palate became more complicated with notes of underbrush and a savoriness I couldn't pin down. Certainly a large-scale effort, but maybe the best-balanced wine I've had around this alcohol level (15.8%) - the amount of …

Dark chocolate & cherry tastes. Nice & smooth on the tongue. Medium body.

Decanted briefly. Ruby/crimson color. Notes of pepper, raspberry and cherry, spice and pine sap. Tannins are firm yet sweet and very fine. Flavors of vanilla, spices, red fruit and dark fruit. Carries its alcohol (15.4% IIRC) very well. Has an elegance about it. Turns slightly meaty as it opens but maintains an elegant quality. I will seek this out. Thanks, R&S! 92-93 pts.

Opened by Allred at our house. I didn't know what to expect with this as I haven't had many 100% Mourvedre wines. This blew me away. Nose was very floral and fruit forward with red and black fruits. Similar palate with elegance flowing freely. Excellent mouthfeel and a long finish. 93+

No formal notes, but this was excellent. I went and signed up for the club after drinking, if that counts for anything...

Vinturi'ed & decanted for 2 hrs. Delicious chocolate & dark fruits were consistent throughout the bottle. A bit of the 15.4% alcohol came out in the taste from time to time.

Second tasting in the last week. Similar experience. No sweaty gym socks type mourvedre here. So supple and finesse driven it's remarkable. I love how the fruit is carried on a river of creamy minerality from the mid palate thru the lingering finish. Stylistically reminds me of the wines from Terry Hoage. Exquisite sounds about right. Approachable and ready now... I don't see a lot of room for future development, i.e., probably not a long term ager. That being said, …

Decanted 1hr then paired with grilled pork chops. Beautiful, seamless, and silky across the palate. Shows moderate funky/brambly and earthy notes alongside lovely pure blue and red fruits. There is good structure, though it is so velvety soft and approachable already. Lovely moderate length caressing finish. Less flamboyant than the '10 version. Delicious...I just loved this! 92+
