Whoa, ruby red grapefruit-sweeter smelling than other SB, gooseberry, tomato stalk, ginger, sweet lychee, watermelon? Cranberry? Slight spritz and phenolic bitter finish, that red fruit and spritz is almost cherry sprite like A touch of mid palate flabbiness, medium acidity Very good 4.2

Nose and palate dominated by sharp grapefruit flavor. Tart and relatively thin, lacking the complexity and any mid-palate richness to balance out the acidity. Not great.

No spritz with this on but stewed and tinned green veggies abound on the nose. Some nettles too. Palate in decent shape and vigorous but the stewed note remains offputting.

Much cleaner than the first bottle and no spritz here though some gas escaped on opening. Like a toned down version of younger vintage of itself - no bad thing at all.

1/6. Of course it's getting on, but I am not enjoying it;s trajectory on the basis on this bottle. Dominant tinned peas and overripe asparagus on the nose. Slightly stewed palate.

I agree entirely that the wine is uncomfortably tart when served too cold.

This is an incredible value - but I have a tip to offer. When drank at refrigerator temperature, it was overloaded with citric acid - a sour apple and pineapple combination. I left it ninety minutes or so, warming to low 50s. What a difference - the wine became full and unusually (for a sauvignon blanc) lush. The citric acid treatment softened and the wine became balanced. And the pineapple element remained, making this an intriguing wine, especially at $14.

So typical of most current Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc. Definite herbal, floral, grassy and citrus nose, but not super crazy. The palate is fresh and lively, spicy, herbal grapefruit, peach, lemon/lime, melon, guava, gooseberry and other citrus fruits. By the finish everything sort of melds together, but stays true to it's Kiwi roots.

Nose shows a strong hit of cut grass and snow pea, with passionfruit in the background. Like the nose, the palate is very grassy, with passionfruit flavour relegated to the background by stronger notes of snow pea and green capsicum. Agreeable, but no great depth or complexity.

This was crisp, tart, nicely fruited and not grassy which is my preference for Sauvignon Blanc. One of the tastier SB's I have had for a while. Tasting pour at a wine shop.

A decent example of NZ sauv blanc with lemon, grapefruit, and bell pepper. The palate is good, but nothing great. This isn't bad for the $10 price range, but there are definitely better Marlborough sauv blancs for only a few dollars more.

Pop and pour from the fridge. I prefer SB colder than cellar cold. Green fruits, slightly drier than others. Quite short on the palete. Accompanied some lovely mushroom pate. Good price.

A clean and classy SB. Kiwifruit, green-apple and green-grape aroma. Guava, passionfruit, green capsicum, herby flavours (basil, tomato green). Quite dry and green, leaning toward an Awatere Valley style but finishes with a more complex sweetness. Very nice.

Very pale colour with greenish edge. Lovely green fruit, grass and nettles on the nose with well balanced, lightweight flavours of green apples, lime, gooseberry and kiwi fruit. Varietal flavour as it should be with style and elegance. Very enjoyable NZSB.

A clear pale lemon - almost completely colourless. Clean, grassy lime on the nose, the palate is dry, high acid and medium bodied. The first 2014 Sav, it just sparkles in your mouth, with gooseberry, lime, and almost a nectarine flavour. Meduim finish, and absolutely typical of a Malborough Sav.

I have lots to comment about this wine. First of all, I made the mistake of initially serving it too cold. This wine has a fair amount of complexity, and several different tasting profiles. Served too cold, the acid is inhibited, served too warm the acid is almost over powering. No matter what, it is very crisp. It is totally New Zealand. Grassy, some cat pee. big acid, lots of grapefruit and gooseberry. Pretty viscous for a Sav Blanc. Once …

I'm not a huge fan of New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs; most are too fruity for my taste. This wasn't over the top in the fruit department, but still left something to be desired. Fairly pale in color, light nose, lots of citrus and gooseberry flavors, backed by an extremely high acidity that I felt was just a little too much. The elements just didn't come together well. On the plus side, this is quite inexpensive, and if you are looking …

- It's balanced with a light body. Bright texture with a long finish - Zingy gooseberry, green fruit and lime. Zippy acidity. Beautifully crisp. Needs to be served very cold, but an outstanding wine at that price, or even triple. Look no further for a house Sauvignon blanc. This is ridiculously good value. Summer in a bottle. With such crunching acidity, must be excellent with tomatoes and citric salad dressings. But there is enough sweetness to make this pleasurable on …

From 75cl screwcap. Very pale indeed. The reticent, slightly grassy nose gives no hint of the concentration and power of the entry. PAZAM!!! Knife edge acidity balances a massive mouth-full of ripe green gooseberry and ripe yellow grapefruit (the peaches noted by Richard Jennings on 16.05.2013 didn't make it into my bottle) which runs clear – super-clean spring-water clear – through to the slightly mouthpuckering, whistle-clean acidic finish. A suprising degree of resonant after-taste for a wine at this price-level. …

typical high quality Marlborough SB. clear transparency with a little pale yellow/green. grass and green capsicum dominating nose and palate, lighter sweet, balanced acidity. medium dry finish with light mineral, spicy and sweet. Like many other Marlborough SB, after one year aging, it's over the peak and quickly soften on aromas. However, it becomes milder, more elegant style at this moment. I think one year is just the best time to drink it. very impressed to its typicality and balance. …

From 75cl screwcap, two identical bottles tasted. The "bog standard" NZ SB tasted by a previous reviewer must have come from a different producer. Once you get past the cat pee on the nose, this is an unusually fat, rich, creamy specimen, with pure SB fruit and good length. Excellent value at around 14 EUR. I would buy again. 90P

For a bog standard Marlborough SB this isn't too bad. Quite well rounded and almost a little restrained although plenty of grassy notes. A little acid spike to finish. Has enough sensibility to drink well as a 2yr old.

Wow. The dial goes up to 11 on this one. Very camp MSB. Almost parodic in style. Very, very zingy, catty, tomato leafy and fruit in abundance. For me it's one to drink near freezing. For Mrs S, probably WOTY. The freshness saves it so will be drinking the other one young.
