Very discreet nose with a bit of pungent white currant. Light to medium bodied, dry, rather crispy and neutral, showing a bit of white currant and citrus. Overall rather light and a bit underwhelming.

The grapes were 100% destemmed, cold stabilised for 48 hours in stainless steel, and fermented and aged for five months in 500 litre French oak barrels with regular bâtonnage, 13.5% ABV. The resulting wine is exactly what you would expect, clean and cool and modern, with the tight, citrussy and mineral character which the grape confers and some added wamth and yeasty richness from the élévage. Slightly technical perhaps, but certainly well done. In my (limited) experience, Encruzado does not …
