Azienda Agricola Valentini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Grilled meat, mocha, flowers, and wild gamey fruits on the nose. Palate was warm and ripe but fairly balanced and elegant. It would have been prettier if it was served colder actually.

Sadly corked

1995 - slowed for 3-4 hours. On the nose, it was a bit muted in the beginning, but opened up after 2 more hours. Red and dark berries, purple flowers, smoked meat, modestly rubbed lamb leather, on the palate, the fruits and acidity were not as focused comparing to 2000/2001; dark plum, olives, pepper, and different types of spices. Terroir : cioccolato amaro, caffè, note balsamiche, cuoio e tannino, poi la nota floreale che fino a qui non ho segnalato negli altri ma che ho trovato in tutti, un bellissimo fiore drammaticamente appassito, canna da zucchero. Bello. Bocca splendida, calore, pare un porto nella sua terziarizzazione composta. Con la pecora.

VERTICALE MONTEPULCIANO VALENTINI (PRANZO DA KUBIK) : Probabilmente l' unica bottiglia tappata, la carbonica è troppo invasiva, quasi piccante in gola. Dopo un' oretta migliora leggermente, ma era una bottiglia infelice. Peccato perchè ha un corpo pazzesco, potrebbe essere grande come il 92!
