I must say this felt like an off bottle, and someone at the table having had it before also said it shouldn’t be like this. But the notes here seem to also experience the same? Extreme orange and oxidized color. Really looked like an orange wine and also felt quite like it. Notes of lambic beer, honey and mead. Quite yeasty. Very exotic with melon and a good ripeness with quite some heat. Not much acidity which always turns me …

Seemed ox'd enough on opening I asked the somm if it was correct - told it was "Pepe style" lol. Opened up and settled down with some air, gaining some fruit flavors and complexity. $115 at cgb.

Beautiful nose with complex notes of yellow fruit, minerals, lemon, orange zest, and a hint of nutty oxidative notes. Nice acidity with citrus zest, a hint of stone fruit, minerals, and dried flowers on the palate. Great finish. Super interesting and unique wine!

Color: medium brass Nose: apricot, nail polish remover, yellow flowers, honey or mead, vinegar, yeast and wet coffee grounds. Changes a lot with air and time Palate: high acidity, perceptible tannins, this has some toasted almond and pine nut notes on top of what's on the nose. Viscous, big body here with alcohol showing Finish: medium Very peculiar, definitely in the realm of orange wine but with a refined profile. big wine, changes a lot with time and air, and …

Highly extracted, bone dry white wine. Rich and elegant. Suspect extended skin contact during vinification. Good accompaniment for a rich Italian fish dish?

Deep, rich yellow, almost pilsner-like in color. Wet, soaked apricot with what I've come to think of as the signature Emidio Pepe liveness on the nose. Rich in the mouth and balanced with a not quite tangy acidity. A long, somewhat nutty finish.

From the wine list at Ci Siamo (NYC), with dinner in celebration of hubby's birthday! Drinking beautifully - golden color, tastes of honey nuts, stone fruit, with some lemon pith. Paired really nicely with the scallop tartare dish. Delicious but the pricing on these is crazy!!!!

Has the appearance of an "orange wine". Suspect extended skin contact. Heavily extracted white wine that is bone dry, mineral driven, and tasting of the wild herbs that grow in central Italy. A blindfolded taster could identify this as a light red. Long finish, perhaps a little hot.

Drinking so beautifully right now and really standing on its own two feet. Radiant gold color with immaculate transparency. Gorgeous aromas of pear skin, sage, and wet river stones. At opening there is a slight funky lactic smell that blew off in 5/10 minutes, and after half an hour or so open there is more pear fruit and a note of vanilla emerges. The aromas continue to the palate where the pear fruit and vanilla amplify a bit, but this …

Zesty nose, orange peels. Some va. Wet stones, saltiness. Slight hint of herbal mint. Grape fruit, star fruit. Orange blossoms. Med body, low tannins. Should be some a period of skin contact. Blood orange, orange peels from mid palate and lasts throughout the finish. Med . Dry. Intense aromatics, long finish. Med, soft acidity. Well integrated. Orange marmalade, lemons, toasty spices.
