Concentrated fruit up front with notes of blackberry, boysenberry, and cherry, transitioning to notes of vanilla, oak, chocolate and earth. Made in a new world style. Could easily mistake this for a well-made Aussie GSM. It is still lively at 14 years old, and can probably go to 20, at least. 15.6% ABV. 40% grenache; 40% syrah, 20% mourvedre.

Amazing, at peak !! Perfect cork, easily removed. Dark burgundy color with no evidence of oxidation, clarity medium. Consumed over two days, lively fruit and acid on day one, softened, more brooding, and deep on day two. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, and Garrique. Flavors of rhubarb, black cherry, and rose hips with a hint of licorice with a long finish. A very balanced flavorful Rhone blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 20% Mourvèdre. This is an age worthy wine …

Dark red in color. BlackBerry, cherry, chocolate, licorice on nose and palate. Decanted for 90 minutes. Served with Elk and Beef, and paired beautifully.

Still, quite deep in color, Blackberries, Black cherries, blueberries, chocolate, and licorice in the nose. Deep concentrated berry fruit, with raspberries, spice, and chocolate in the flavor. Nice complexity, full bodied, and a medium to long finish.

Deep dark color. Big nose of dark red fruit. Raspberry and blackberry at first with spice and just a bit of leather following. This is a hint of camphor mixing in on the earthy finish which goes in for a long time. The texture is incredibly rich with fine tannins coating the mouth. The balance is wonderful. This wine is big but so elegant. Through all the cascade of flavors the fruit never goes away. One of the best LC …

Still fruit forward with long finish. Wouldn't let it sit much longer though.

Pretty big fruit bomb GSM. Red and dark fruits for sure--raspberry and blackberry. Some spice with a little leather and smoke keeps it all feeling relatively balanced. 40% Grenache/40% Syrah/20% Mourvedre. Seems like it still has a couple years left.

A bold nose of sweet dark fruits and spices, dark black purple in color. A full bodied GSM blend with currants, raspberry, plum, spice box on long velvet finish, layers of flavor. A fantastic wine, still years of life left. www.winelx.com

A blockbuster Syrah with masses of fruit earth and herbs. Very new world but focused and balanced. Five to ten years of life still in it but great now.

Bottle signed by Matt Trevisan ("Keep your thoughts short"). This is a mouff-full of wine. Announces its intentions the moment the cork comes out of the bottle. Heavy perfume of blackberry and blueberry compote with a robust necklace and a glimmering bright dark blue/purple hue. Gobs of ripe red raspberries and blackberries on the palate and a tarry anise finish. Equal parts Grenache and Syrah and 20 percent Mourvèdre that is seamless. Full bodied with a nice fresh beam that …

We loved this wine. The fruit flavors melded well together and were a perfect match for our steak dinner tonight. We did decant based on a previous review from someone but did not need to do that. We tasted right out of the bottle, after the bottle had sat for a while and it was great. It was our last bottle - too bad!

Popped and tasted b4 decanting. Alcohol overwhelmed me. Let it sit out and after 2&1/2 hours it transformed into something magical. So maybe it's the 15.6% talking here, but I don't think so. Everything just came together. No heat. Big lucious fruit with enough acid tp hold it together. Nose is dark red brooding cherry. I'll leave it to pro's to describe the litany of flavors going on.

Having only tasted young Linne Calodo wines before now, this was a treat. Exuberant and complex nose of dark fruit, licorice, and herbs, typical of LC. What really blew me away was that first sip... immediately playful and serious at the same time. Rich, dense, dark fruit, but soooo light on its feet. Perfect balance, bright and dark simultaneously, and still plenty of acid to provide a long, lovely finish. This is like the first date you want to replay …

Tasted immediately after opening. We needed a heavy hitter tonight to match a spicy meatloaf. This seemed a good candidate. And it was. Lush nose of ripe black fruit and anise. Very pleasing on the palate. Typical rich LC red and black fruit with anise and sweetness. But a bit softer and more retrained than other of their wines that I have tried in the past. Excellent acidity in the long finish. Very good.

I think this might have been my first time tasting the Overthinker, but it was another nice bottle in the typical Linne Calodo style. A lot of fruit, with red/blue/black flavors, but well balanced and complex.

Mulberry, raspberry & blackberry compote on nose. Layers of smoke, tobacco leaf, mulberry with hint of fresh tar & tarragon. One of the top bottles consumed from LC!

Lovely wine. Deep purple in the glass. Soft rich fruit, in a blend of Grenache 40%, Syrah 40%, and Mourvedre 20%. The Grenache made it cheerful and fruity, the Syrah gave it some depth, and the Mourvedre added the undercurrent of structure. Not decanted; it seemed to work right out of the bottle. A lush experience.

A monster of a wine. Heavy and dense with abundant fruit. Probably better in a couple years, definitely decant and have with food.

This was sublime...LC at its best! Deep, deep purple...I wanted the decanting to go on for ten minutes. Smoky berries with a bit of leather on the nose. Lush but not overpowering or overly sweet...beautiful fruit with a perfect snap on the finish. It deep red/purple velvet had a taste profile...this would be it.

We drank this bottle shortly following opening and decanting and then over the course of a couple of hours. Initial fruit, predominantly blackberry, slowly gave way to subtle tannins. Over a couple of hours, it became more balanced and enjoyable, reminiscent of a fine Priorat. Delicious.

Decanted 6 hours prior to tasting. Since my tasting experience is so divergent from previous accounts, I choose to withhold what would have been an 87. Loved the wine upon release and brought bottles directly to my cellar. I have no idea what happened, but this bottle, at least, took a very wrong turn. The nose was red plums which followed into the palate, but rather than soften and stretch out, it turned sharp with intrusive acidity like some brat …

great bottle. Opened up after about a half hour and its singing now. Initial fruit but subtlety that wasn't there without some age. Drank a 2010 same night, no comparison. Beautiful wine.

A classic fruit bomb at opening. After that it showed a bit more complex flavor. Served with cider marinated double cut pork chops with goat cheese polenta. Was excellent.
