WSET II Class; 2/22/2025-2/23/2025 : During day 3 of my WSET Level II course, we began exploring Italian white wines, focusing on regional characteristics and winemaking styles. This was our first wine of the day, tasted blind to practice our systematic evaluation approach while learning about the Garganega grape and the Soave Classico region. Shy and simple aromas show notes of fresh cut apple, Asian pear, wild flowers, orange blossom, wet stone and saline. The palate shows above moderate acidity set against light weight and moderate textures. Flavors are light and follow the nose. the finish is moderate. Overall, good but pretty basic.
