Decent wine for its price but lacks body. Alcohol overpowers fruit.

Ung frisk med en aning bitterhet i ettersmaken. Litt vassen kant, men ikke utpreget. Fin frukt. Sitter godt. Fin terrassevin.

Solid. Very black fruity, with chocolate and vanilla powder underlying the nose. There's a pleasant baking spice that captures the senses, with a pronounced but not overwhelming oakiness. More similar to a New World wine, although the ABV is still relatively low. This cries out for grilled meats, vegetables and even meatier fish.

Forsmak før jentekveld. Fruktig og god balanse. Blåplomme frukt, svakt produksjonspreg. 1 dag i flaske: Enkel og god juice 140 NOK

Had with a simple Pizza at home. Garnet, dark fruit, spices, some animal notes, vanilla, medium body, good balance and complexity, fine to medium tannins, good length. Very good QPR. 89-90

A famous wine from Portugal because of its Wilhelm Busch label - ruby color with little legs - nose fruity but not very intense - flavor a little bit disharmonic - short finish

My last bottle, alas, and as good as the previous.

Seems a bit fuller with more backbone than I noted last time but that may be a function of pairing. I like it just as much.

I knew nothing about this cuvée apparently destined for the German market and bought it on the strength of the Niepoort name. My confidence was justified. Colour not very dense and body medium at most but immediately the aromas on the nose captivated showing lively red fruit, red currant especially, with a porty edge, spice and minerals. The lively fruity palate developed the aromas from nose with lively mouth-watering acidity, gritty minerals and peppery spice finishing off with nice gently …

Straight from the bottle this was quite rustic and harsh with lots of acid. Smooths out with time but still remains a rustic wine that lacks elegance. I think this will get a bit better in about half a year as it is really young now. It will be a nice food wine, fitting with tomatoes, herbs and other Mediterranean tastes. Recommendation: Enjoy it a little bit chilled on a summer evening with company & lots of food around.
