Heaps of dark ripe blackberry reminding me of black current fruit pastilles.

Deep red with a hint of browning showing its age. Quite rich and full on the nose, with a bit of oak. Initially quite rich and full on the palate, a hint of fruit, but far more tertiary now. Lovely acidity kicks in on the midpalate taking it through to a good lenght fairly tannic finish. Quite a well balanced wine, that is very pleasant. Probably a few years left in it, as long as the acidity holds out, i'd …

I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle that exceeded my expectations. White pepper on the nose with a few other spices indicating a cooler growing region, it opened up to be a well balanced and savoury wine - black fruits, plums and subtle tannin. Drink now or 6+ years.

Agree with previous reviewer. Decent but boring. Works well as a barbecue wine. The 2006 was much better. Somewhat disappointed by this one.

- Garnet color. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of raisin and licorice anise with a medium/full body. Round texture with a medium finish - A pleasant enough wine, but nothing to write home about! The primary flavour was liquorice with undertones of dried fruit (raisins?). I didn't decant, but the bottle was opened about 3 hours prior to consumption. Nicely balanced - the flavours were all in proportion.

A deep, brooding red in the glass , the nose has plum, aniseed and rich high quality oak. The palate has layers of flavor with plum and blackberry providing the perfect contrast to the savoury oak and cinnamon characters in the mid to back palate. The tannins are persistent and fine without being firm. An excellent wine that will drink well over the medium term. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink by 2017)
