Cesare's Group (Home - Minnesota) : Incredible that a year has passed since the last time I tried this, and it doesn't seem to have changed a bit. Nice nose makes promises the palate can't keep. Still clipped/short on the finish with tannins outweighing the fruit.

I'd give it a 90. Seemed young and a little out of balance but very enjoyable. I'm not a pinot fan...

Opened this on a whim, after having drunk the 2001 Londer Parabol. The Londer blew this away in terms of its presentation of fruit. Still a nice, well balanced Pinot, a much more delicate wine. Stong tannic backbone came forward after about 15 minutes. Sealed up half the bottle in a split and tasted second day and the fruit was much more up front.

Pleasant enough, but lacks "pop". Not much going on with the nose. Fruit with some lingering tannins tailing off to a fairly short finish. Would be better with food, but lacks complexity standing on its own.

This was a favorite pinot of ours. Bought and drank a lot of it. But I stretched out the inventory a bit too long and now it's past its peak. Much of the wonderful nose is now gone and pallette is flat. Originally a 91--now low 80s.

Deep dark cherry with raspberry underscored nicely with an earthy funk, clove, dark spices and a slight briar quality. Integrated tannins with a velvet texture that expands well on the mid-palate, but turns a touch thin and trails off a bit on the finish.

Just above mediocre Pinot Noir, especially for the price at ~$19. There is a bitterness on the finish that I didn't care for. Drink now. [Decanted 30 minutes and served with fresh grilled king salmon]

Clear, dark magenta (somewhat remarkable in that the bottle is neither fined nor filtered). Fragrant classic dusty raspberry pinot nose becomes more closed after 2-3 hours. On the palate, focused bands of raspberry coat the tongue, with some slightly bitter tannins (which were more resolved when initially opened). Bought at The Wine Cellar in Highlands for $29.99. Would buy again.

($25) Napa-Noma Trip: This is about 80% Russian River fruit. Nice, intense cola and black cherry nose. Sort of a gooseberry, zesty quality. Nice value Pinot.

Kittys: Full fruit, rich mouth, almost sweet cab-like. Big ts, a rich Pinot.

($25) Honeymoon in the Wine Country: Tons of clove and cinnamon on the nose. Herbs. A bit saline on the palate. Nice.
