Andrew and Howard's birthday dinner : A similar bouquet to the 1998 but a much bigger expression on the palate. The 1999 seemed more than a year younger than the 1998, with more spicy oak yet to integrate as well. The flavour profile was similar to the 1998, with more iron in mid palate and more hints of blackcurrant and cassis. Perhaps the 1999 needs more time than the 1998?
