Cracking wine but this was the second bottle and the first wasn't as interesting. This one started brilliantly with an inviting nose showing vanilla, fruit and a touch of cedar. Really well made wine, no gaps in the flavour, good complexity and length. Bravo!

Second Sunday Group: 2012 Napa Cabernets (Rich's & Dana's) : Double blind. Purplish crimson color. Briny- like opening a jar of the pimento-stuffed green olives- some said "pickle" - fine, whatever the exact note, it's very distracting and difficult to get past. Red fruit and spice qualities in the bouquet lurking beneath the pickle/olive note, but also on the palate. Decent finish. My #8, Domino's #7 Group #5, 55 pts

Aromas of cedary oak, currants, black cherries and ripe plums suggest the fruit flavors to come, as does the intense, deep red color of the wine. Dense, mouth-filling cherries, plums, chocolate and tobacco marry with the oak nuances. The firm tannins underlying the wine’s core provide balance, leading to a long, lingering finish.
