Cherry, vanilla aroma. Tannin still there, can age longer. Dry finish, cherry and blackberry hints.

Amazingly good for the price point. Won't "wow" anyone, but will pair well with most everyday foods. Moderate tanins, heavy fruits. A little oak and vanilla. Quite smooth for a wine at this price point.

This wine appears to be on its down hill legs. I've had several bottles of the 08 in the past and They appear to be on the decline in my cellar. Nice fruit and good fruity nose. A bit of astringence on the finish now. Still drinkable but go for the newer vintages is my guidance

Deep black reddish with plum edges. Nose with mineral notes and full fruit. Mouth is full fruit with a nice bite and end of tanins. This wine followed an ok 2005 Chianti Classico Reserva and stood up well to that wine. Nice full fruit and full mouth with a good dry finish. A steal at the local pricing in town. We'll see how the 2008 develops over the next year -- I expect better things!

OK. Felt like it had been removed from the barrel prior to full maturity. Pleasant enough, however. Berries and spice is about all I can remember (it's been a few hours, bear with me).

Easy drinking. Solid buy at $9 USD. Nice berries and spice, hint of coffee on the palate. Balanced tannins. Decanted for 45 minutes prior to consuming.

Dark red-purple colour. Nose of dark berries, fruity palate with some vanilla oakiness, hint of raisin. Palate is medium-bodied, with a creamy mouthfeel, good acidity, some fake tasting sweetness on the finish (a bit too sweet for me, to be honest). At first, I found the nose less than attractive, like if the wine was over the hill. But the fruit came forth after 20-30 minutes in quite an expressive fashion. Some deposit present. For a mass-produced wine this offers …

Medium bodied. Earthy notes balanced by subtle fruit. Much better after breathing a bit. Quite good with savory foods.

Mass market wine but hearty wine. Strong, aromatic. A healthy dose of vanilla oak comes out in a pleasing way with acidic foods like tomato sauce. I've drunk with food and without. All good. Money (and not much) well spent.

Very old world in style...reminded me of a Spanish Tempranillo, or a Chianti. Had a dusty, earthy quality to it balanced by some nice fruit. Solid wine at a good price.

A good wine but finicky...better if decant for over 30 min but less than 4 hours, don't let it get too warm though. Otherwise it is a good wine with a complex balance of spices (peppery) and dark fruits (currant, blackberry, etc.). **Remember friends: ranking wine is not on whether or not its your favorite wine/grape, but how the wine holds up to itself and its category.

Aromas of garbage with soil sprinkled on it, red fruit, and a hint of coffee. Decently structured on the palate, but this seems like an off-vintage, off-bottle, or both. 79

Nice, soft black fruit. This has a touch more vanilla than previous bottles. Wish there was a bit more structure or acidity here but, all in all, this is decent quaffer for mid-week consumption - especially with non-winos.

I didn't get much of this bottle ... seems my wife and daughter-in-law liked it and I lost out. Pours dark with the essence of dark fruit on the nose and palate. We drank this before food and it was just fine.

Purple color. Fruity nose. Taste: at first rather astringent, but less than nine months ago. Later nicely fruity with chocolate. Not very full and with some harsh edges, but agreeable.Might benefit of some more cellaring. Nice. 82.

Given the price, I think this was great. Dark fruits, chocolate and soft tannins. Perfect as a bbq wine, or simply for a glass by itself. Second half of the bottle on night 2 was better than first.

Would have benefited from double decanting as it was quite closed for a while. Dark fruits on the nose and black cherries on the palate plus something like smokey bacon.

Popped and poured. Medium ruby hue. Nose of red fruits, smoke, and spice. Medium to Med-light body. Flavors are true to the varietal and region, with spicy notes of raspberry, earth, and toasty oak. Although the finish is slightly clipped, and overall lacking in complexity, this is still really meant for quaffing....and keeping that in mind it most certainly works! Impressive for such a modest wine....and $7.00 per magnum is a great price for a QPR selection such as this.
