Terre dei Roveri Nebbiolo d'Alba

Blood color, slightly murky core with clear edges. Intense asphalt and menthol nose with a sweet floral note. Body is on the thin side. Tight, tart cherries, sizzling acid, menthol, pine, graphite and a bit of chocolate. Moderate, sandy tannins. Finish is clean and short. Funky, unapologetic nebbiolo. Well, almost unapologetic. There's a bit of sweet wood and/or residual on the back that feels pasted on, like an unsubtle effort to tame the wine's idiosyncrasies.
