started out a bit dense and oaky but with a few hours of air it really blossomed. I really enjoyed the powerful spice laden aromatics. The fruit on the palate is dense (per the vintage) and it had this warmth and growing presence that got more intense and mineral-laden with each sip. I'm really liking 2012 red burgs for the long haul - that fruit density has been really impressive

Decanted half bottle and the remaining wine for bottle breath. Surprisingly the bottle breath one is far better which the one from decanter is a bit muted. It’s a charming wine with the aromas of strawberry, raspberry, mineral, iron, hawthorn, blackberry and slightly floral. Palate is elegance, balance, silky and purity with countless finish and smooth tannin. Young But accessible! Simply mind blowing! What a wine!

Absolutely textbook RSV. Super-fine and lacy, with delicious red berry and cherry fruit flavours. The nose is full of dried flowers and palate voluminous and expansive. It finishes with terrific cut and has superb persistence.

Double-Blind Burgundy Flight : Double-blind in quite a fun 2012 flight alongside Duroche Latricieres-Chambertin and Sylvian Pataille L'Ancestrale. Wines double decanted at 11am and tasted from 5pm to 10pm. This wine just never came around. Started off a bit green, dark, earthy, but never became elegant or harmonious or showing the red fruit we might have expected. Off bottle or just shut down?
