Amazing value for this CH. Need some time to open up. Then its aromatic with black pepper, charcuteries, dark fruit and tobacco. Medium body and long finish. Balanced. Drinks well now but has the structure to age several more years.

Lovely wine. Not a regular Crozes-Hermitage drinker but this is what I think of when I think of Crozes-Hermitage. Textbook.

This wine is in a very good shape at the moment! It is full-bodied, fruity, intensive and balanced, displaying very nice notes of dark berries, violet, herbs and smoke. The wine is pleasant to drink now, and it is not at all too tannic or tight. However, compared to Saint Cosme Saint-Joseph from the same vintage, this wine is maybe lacking some extra refinement or special quality. It is a very good and enjoyable wine, but maybe lacking some unique …

Improved over the past year. Mint and cherry noted. Good length and balance. Better on days after uncorked, should improve even more over next few years.

Subtle nose of charcol, plumb and alcohol. Fuller bodied with sweet fruit, plenty of acid and dusty mineral notes balance out the palate. Needs a decant or 4 to 8 years to develop some aroma. Can see 1 or 2 points higher with tertiary notes.

Dark deep purple color. A bit grippy, angular and dense. Earthy and toasty with oak and plums. Needs about 30 -45 minutes to open up.

Russk. I brought to CDC at Johns. A more modern style producer. Lean enough Syrah. No tertiary notes. Don't need more.

Really classic Northern Rhône. Delightfully earthy and savory but still with lots of fresh red and black fruit.

Drank over 2 nights. Purple in color. Olives, iron, blackberry, floral/saline on nose (and palate similar). Medium body, medium+ acidity, medium tannins and long finish. Very nice and worth trying. 91+ and will buy some more.

Dark red fruits, fine tannins, garrique, coco, forest floor, earthiness, and a full mouthfeel describes this wine for me. I do find the tannins to be a little bit drying and I am thinking that a couple of years of aging would resolve them. Otherwise, I think this is a nice Crozes Hermitage.

(Imported by Winebow). I had high expectations of this Crozes-Hermitage from Louis Barruol at St.-Cosme. It did not disappoint. __________ Color: Very dark ruby. Almost completely opaque. Nose: This wine is young. The nose is a little shy. Hiding behind the skirt strings is a dark, soil-inflected, classic northern Rhône nose of black/purple plum, blackberry, black olive, violets, and dark damp soil. Classic. Beautiful. Palate: Full body (alcohol at 14.5%). Excellent concentration (extract). Rich mouthful of black plum, blackberry, black …

Deep purple colour. Medium and youthful nose with blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, hay, straw and violet. Medium taste of straw, hay, blackberry and red currant. Medium long and dry finish. Medium (+) acidity. Medium tannins. Full body. A good Crozes-Hermitage that lacks some complexity and balance. Part of my WSET3 exam prep. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with game and poultry.

This is a very good Northern Rhône Syrah for a fairly decent price (23 euros). The wine displays dark berries, violet, herbs and smoke on the palate. The taste is full-bodied, fairly fruity and structured, but not too tannic and astringent even at this bottle-age. All in all, this wine is in a good drinking condition even at the moment, but it will probably become even more multi-dimensional in a couple of years.

Sample tasting at work (Oinoscent) : The wine is beautiful in the nose, full fruity, earthy, a few spices, thin oak frame. The same in the palate, nice fruit, juicy tannins, medium body and acidity with long finish. Just a touch of heat (14.5%)

A beautiful and pleasant Syrah. Already completed. The tannins are smooth and round. It is drinking well now, but it will develop in 3 to 5 years.
