Fresh, black and red cherries, smooth tannins, great acidity, already enjoyable with a few hours of air

Surprisingly sweet and forward. I was hoping for more balance and structure. Very modern, in the sense that it leans overripe, sweet and polished. While I hear good things about the producer, this vintage and wine isn’t one I’d recommend.

Needs time but this will be great! Light red color. Nose opens up with roses and raspberries. Palate has cranberries, pomegranate, tar, a touch of orange peel. Lots of red fruit on the palate, the tannins are chalky and the acidity is very high. Long finish as well. A tad rough at this age but you can sense the quality. Give it a another 10 years at the least.

More spice, more power and more black fruit to it. And loads of structure to the back end. So to lay down. Tied up and wound up as well.

Tasted at Tre Bicchieri, NYC. Traditional, elegant yet with a dense mouth feel. Quite lovely. Needs cellaring and probably more aeration than this bottle was given.

Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri Tasting (Bridgeport Arts Center - Chicago IL) : Walkaround tasting with the producers. Black and red cherry, well spiced, faintly floral. Good+ depth with pronounced tannins for now. Lots here, give this a decade+ in the cellar.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over a couple of hours. No formal notes but I can assure all that this is freaking delizioso. Loads of sexy red fruits: fresh bramble fruit, Montmorency cherry, pomegranate, cranberries along with some orange peel...and a tar pit…surrounded by a wall of roses. The tannins are so firm (high) right now. Acid is medium+. The finish is impossibly long, drying and savory. This is incredible and the only reason I opened one now is because I …

GD Vajra & Luigi Baudana (Ivy Bottle Shop, Sydney) : Concentrated , savoury, a little meaty underpin and balsamic note, pot pourri, dried flowers, touch of cherry. Medium plus intensity acidity, slight sour cherry, balsamic, rocky, grippy, medium plus intensity tannins again have a touch of woodiness and prove tight, drying, it's quite foursquare, time will, of course, help but this a little unwieldy for me at the moment.

The Cru is named Baudana. And the town is named Baudana. Has a cardamom spice character to the nose. West of the slope in Serra Lunga. Looks directly at the tower of Castiglione. And orange peel on the nose as well. Unique soil - allot more iron in the clay and lightish and gray-ish as opposed to red which brings more meatiness to the wine is the idea. Chewiness of the tannins, blackberry on the palate. Really long and full …

Tasting with Isi Terrific n perfumed nose with balsam roses spice and tar. Expansive yet seemingly only middweighted. this is beautifully balanced and fresh with a lovely mix of perfume and fruit. This bottling for me can sometimes come across a little broad, but this has terrific detail and balance. Elegant, effortlessly lovely wine. Really well done!
