Jammy, medium-bodied, a little cocoa on the nose, red fruit; very drinkable with or without food.

Tasted last bottle in 2024 and felt it has lost some fruit and acidity and was too mellow for my palette. My prior recollection from 2021 was a mineral driven earthy pinot typical from Willamette

Still impressed by how that wine evolved over the years. This bottle opened 10 years after the vintage was so different than the 1st one from the same case 5 years ago. The typical « Oregon style » spices and flavors are gone and it now tastes half way between a good new world Pinot and one from Burgundy.

Delicious, but not so youthful anymore. On the savory, dark, and full-bodied side of Willamette PN. Not my preferred style, but unimpeachable as an example of the Chehalem Mountains school.

Not a great PN fan but for me this is exceptional. Great with a barbecue pork tenderloin with a honey- mustard sauce.

100% ready to drink. Perfect balance of fruit and acidity. Worth the wait. No presence of the smokiness sometimes present in US West Coast Pinot.

I was curious about Southern Oregon wines since they include Malbecs. Found this wine from one of the vineyards known for Malbecs just to check it out. Definitely need to go on a road trip!

Short decant..purple color with medium/ slow legs. Interesting for a Pinot. A nice, mild nose with a bit of mineral and strawberry. On the tongue, forest floor and persimmon, with a touch of strawberry. Nice finish on the tongue, a little harsh after a few seconds.

Straightforward red fruit with earth and smoke notes on the core, medium body, finishes with ok acidity. Decent but also meh at price, can find much better value under $30 let alone $40+.

Taut and crispier on the palate. Maybe just a bit reductive with some spice or smoke character to it? But I've been apparently tasting that this entire week. Range of soil types and aspects. Fruit, spice, earth, and sage brush kinda thing I am being told. Over at $40 but who am I to judge?

Brick red in complexion, earthy, slight oak and good amount of spices especially anise envelope this light bodied wine from Oregon. It show plenty of red fruit especially ripe cherry and strawberry. The wine has a chalky feel with balanced acidity. The tannins are polished and the finish is enjoyable with a slight tartness.

Just a touch of earth on the nose but a little less lean than all the others. And a touch of funk on the palate too.

Decanted two hours. No detailed notes, but this came off as a bit generic. It distinguished itself favorably against two CA pinots opened at the same time with its higher acidity and earthiness, but not a wine I would seek out.

Rhubarb and gooseberry on the nose, with some ginger and white pepper. On the palate outsized minerality put it a touch out of balance, which was balanced with more time open. A nice wine that could develop.

Opened the 1st bottle of my case of 2014. Very well balanced. Still quite young, a lot of acidity to last another 3-5 years in cellar but a bit of raspberry and roasted spice aromas.

Terroir-istes International - USA-Oregon-Willamette Pinot Noir (Bishopscourt) : (Tasted Blind): Mid purple to crimson, the aromas show plenty of black fruit with blackberry and black raspberry mixed with toasted spices, red apple, and some pastry, but also with a hint of grappa/pomace. The entry feels bulbous, with juicy fruits at its core and a rich texture that broadens out to a more muscular structure. There is fresh acidity despite the wine feeling a little heavy in the mid-palate, filled with …

Light ruby red. This is a light bodied, mineral driven PN. Light but juicy red berry fruits and with a nice balance of sweetness and acidity. Still young and should improve with time.

Tasted at the winery. The wine is light to medium crimson ruby. this is a light bodied wine with moderate tannin and acidity displaying notes of cherry, spices, minerals and cranberry. I found it easy drinking and pretty straightforward but not as complex and interesting as most of the others tasted today.

Medium-dark rosewood color with magenta corona. Faint nose of cherries, with a delicately stony aroma. Any hopes that this would be an elegant, Burgundian-style Pinot Noir were dashed by the loads of vanilla on the cloyingly sweet palate. This finished medium-short with some grainy tannins. In contrast to the more balanced 2012 Roco Marsh Estate PN (see my 11/24/2016 note), this was mawkish and over-oaked. I wouldn't be a repeat customer.

2014 Oregon Pinot (Part 1) : Juicy ruby color. Aromas of juicy black cherries and raspberries, backed up by a mix of anise, cedar, dark chocolate and coffee notes. A very pretty and supple wine with fleshy tannins and cool acidity. Black cherry and raspberry flavors, the fruit is ripe but elegant. Complex elements of cola, violets, forest floor, fennel and tobacco. Such a crisp, vibrant and attractive wine right out of the bottle, but it has stuffing to improve …

Intensely perfumed, Aldelsheim’s commemorative 2014 Breaking Ground Pinot Noir is composed entirely of Chehalem Mountain Pinot Noir, 12% of which is from the winery’s estate. Sumptuous black cherries, black raspberry, underbrush, earth, and heirloom roses grace the nose. It’s ruby-hued and more opaque than is typical for Oregon Pinot—hinting at this wine’s concentration and depth. The tannins are fine and velvety, with a surprising degree of lift coming from a burst tart cranberry-and-iron-tinged acidity that crescendos with dried orange peel …
