Thorn-Clarke Shotfire Cabernet Shiraz

This has finally come around. Both black and red fruits present, medium-to-full body, still quite young looking. Tannins mostly integrated but not entirely. Hints of menthol or perhaps eucalyptus. Just a tad hot, but that's to be expected from this producer. Very much enjoyed.

Had a few of these over the last few years. This one was in a good place at the moment

Drank over two nights. Was enjoyable on both, but no notes taken.

A unexpectedly Shiraz-dominated Cab/Shiraz blend. A muted nose of dried prune and nail polish with a touch of menthol and mildew. Hot on the palate with less than medium weight. Tannins are present and young - though not overwhelmingly so - and end short, exposing with their sudden departure a somewhat flimsy acidic end. Not so much a fruit-bomb as a fruit-blip, the wine has no coherent structure and can be just as deflating to one's expectations as an over-promising …

Great bottle for the money

aroma - shiraz, sweet raisin and cherry, eucalyptus; taste - chewy with big red fruits (blackberry in particular), herbs, spice and green herbs like rosemary, mild sweetness is good and well balanced, finish is drying but tannins are mild and creamy

The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Cinnamon, Clove, and Cherry. It tastes like and Cherry. The body is Medium. The wine has Linear texture. The wine finishes Short.

Inky color, sharp fruity nose, medium fruit taste, sharp with some acidity, and decent tannins. It worked for me since all was in balance.

Big azz Aussie cab-shiraz blend: exactly what I expected/hoped for. Might have called this "shiraz" blind, even though it's 56% cab. Buying more
