Trumpeter Cabernet Sauvignon

Opens to an inky dark red color. Aromas of dark fruit. After a 45 minute decant (would recommend a bit longer), it started to open up with a mish mash of dark fruit, earth tones, some funk. Not a bad Virginia wine.

One of the best Virginia wines I’ve ever had. After a 1 hour decant the wine opens to a dark fruit aroma with interesting flavor notes. Can’t say it’s the best Cabernet I’ve had but for what it is it’s definitely worth a try. The longer it sits the better it should become. Definitely recommend

The first 2 bottles I drank were much better. This one seemed bland and without any complexity. Then again I didn’t decanter it, just popped and poured. The temp was also a little warm as I didn’t chill it at all (which I prefer in my reds). I have a few bottles left and will try again. If that’s the case then a 1 hour decant is the key to getting the most out of this wine.

Give it time to breathe. Medium ruby. Opens to dark fruit, brooding, smoky, a hint of oak, earthy, silky, medium plus tannins and acid in perfect balance. Medium body with a long finish. Virginia is capable of making excellent Cabernet Sauvignon's, and this certainly is one.

For a celebrity wine this is probably the best I’ve ever had. Serve it with a slight chill and decant it for an hour and you will be delighted to have a wine that has a very pleasant aroma with notes of cherry, vanilla and clove. Not extremely complex, but at this price point what do you expect. Not a world beater, but a very solid wine sold at a reasonable price. I wouldn’t be holding this for years, but …

Funky, earthy nose. Quite flat in the mouth, tannins pronounced.

Tasted flat and had no aroma. Grape juice has more flavor.
