Chateau des Cabans, Medoc

Today this just wants an hour of air to really open up. Dark red fruit, licorice. Roast. Med/- tannin. There is some rough edge to the palate. A not unpleasant bitter (cocoa).

Deep inky crimson color. Notes of black currants, plum, green tobacco and vanilla with a subtle earthy undertone. Medium bodied, with vanilla, plum, herb, black fruit, spice and mineral qualities.

on the cork pull this wine was rather disjointed. rather than give it 15 mintues, this is now day 2.5. and yes, it has come together. red and black fruit aromas. tell me how, but this wine seems to be of deeper color today. palate shows rather taught, and there is a black tea/flowery instance that lingers on the palate. a roundness and softness to the tannins really amp up the mouth-feel and bolster this not-so, not-fruity style of bordeaux. …

From barrel sample apperently. The 2008s, compared to the 2007 of this estate are more aromatic, rich and round.
