Geoffroy Champagne Premier Cru Terre Extra Brut

From Magnum. First time here as well. Very food friendly, cherry, mineral, disgorged in 2021 and the less influence shows strongly.

Frisk med grønne epler og mineraler. Smooth, men mangler litt kompleksitet.

First opened was flat, not complex, short finish and nondescript. Meh. 88 points. After 30 minutes improved. More brioche came out. Nice balance and decent acidity. Almond past finish. Far from a wow factor but a well made wine. Seemed like it was wanting to be Krug but couldn't. Generous 93 on a few sips. Mostly 92. After another hour or so it seemed to have gotten more austere. Incredible Champagne, lots of fine fruit notes, a precise acidity and a very complex and deep structure. Nice soft aging notes. Very long and elegant finish. Drink now until 2030. (IG)

Soaring lemon with a nice brioche finish. This was so clean despite its age. Gorgeous and better the following day, which means that amazingly this could use a few more years

Outstanding champagne. Up there with Dom Perignon and other top Marquees. The 12 years on lees here is insanely noticeable. It just turns it into this creamy beautifully luxurious texture where you can't get enough of it. Still has hints of crunchy green apples even after all these years and then those layers of toast, honey, macadamia nuts. Wow, take a bow Jean-Baptiste because this is wonderful champagne at a very good price.

Quite mature nose with nuts, orange zest, marzipan, lemon and bisquits. On the palate a bit younger with freshness and fruit up front, and a long, lingering, creamy finish. Very nice!

Terry Theise Champagne Tasting (Chicago; 10/23/2019-10/24/2019 (Vin Chicago) : Poured at a tasting by Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy. My favorite champagne at this tasting. This bottling his the estates tete du cuvee. Aged for 12 years on it's lees. 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay sourced from vines that are 50+ years old. Disgorged july 2017. Spectacular wine with a long full finish. notes of fresh biscuits, toasted brioche and citrus. Creamy texture. 95 points.
