Six month after my last bottle this is another stunning showing. Starts off seemingly a bit tired, medium golden yellow, a bit too much and too little freshness, with oxidization seemingly around the corner. With about 30 min of air the wine opens up in a big way with plenty of acidity and minerality more than matching the mellowed richness. Great Chablis by any means and a solid 95 if you can find a good bottle...

If you can catch this wine before oxidization, it is a truly impressive Chablis at almost 25 years of age. Another great bottle pnp with Sushi at home

Pnp with Sushi at home. The best of my bottles so far. The same medium golden color but no signs of oxidization on nose or palate this time. Great minerality and freshness. Superb balance. Wow! Two bottles remaining which I look forward to finishing before year end. Solid 95 again

Consistent with last note. This is superb but again feels like this is on its last legs. I see there are still some 60 bottles in CT cellars, I will drink my remaining four bottles in the next 6-12 months to avoid severe oxidization

Pnp. Golden yellow, some lees floating as mentioned also below. A slightly oxidative whiff upon opening but all concerns are gone with the first sip. The expected, somewhat evolved and richer palate with white fruit and a touch of nutty oak a GC Chablis usually shows, but here wonderfully matched by acidity from the lemon notes and minerality. Very clear palate with excellent delineation. Long finish too. Would not hold this much longer if you have this in your cellar …

From the same batch as my prior bottles, this wine had a medium+ yellow center and clear rims. I should have also mentioned that all the bottles had some lees floating around in them. The medium+ intensity nose offered up citrus, white stone, apples, and almond paste. In the mouth, this wine was rich but immediately showed a very crisp lemony streak. PNP'd.....fantastic right out of the bottle, bright citrus, mineral, extracted mid-palate, decidedly chablis. After 1/2 hour or so, this really faded, leaving a mineral laden wine with a mild oxidative note, flat and lacking expression. Drink up, quickly!

Strategic oxidation in the Guffens style but more than that, severe premox. On opening, shellac. Some of this clears off as intended, and color lightens, but nothing lively happens either. Clearly serious wine, white Burg not identifiable as Chablis. Intense fruit concentration on mid-palate shows its pedigree; otherwise, not worth the original release (post-Parker score) price, much less the $245 retail now advertised. This was showing great with bright yellow color (the second bottle was slightly darker) with plenty of mineral and bright yellow fruit. If this ever had the typical overly toasty oak Verget character, it has integrated nicely. 93+ pts.

This drank great. It needed a bit of air time. I gave it 30 minutes in the bottle but decanting would have been better. This wine is poised and reserved but at the same time seductive and tender. It was a but dark in the bottle which scared me but the flavor profile is lemon, wheat and a little oak. Terrific all by itself and too good to share with in-laws that don't care.

Initially, this was almost as dark as the '96 Valmur, but miraculously, it seemed to lighten. I thought it was DOA at first, with nutty, weird tones, but it actually morphed into recognizable Chablis. The acid came up, and it became leaner and tighter, resembling the '96 Valmur but a little richer, more lactic, and infused with tropical, pineapple fruit.
