Fernand Girard, Sancerre, Garenne

The nose was intense with ripe stone fruits offset by fresh citrus, minerals and floral tones. On the palate, silky textures were contrasted by brisk acidity with mineral cut giving way to ripe melon and apple, in an electric display of Sancerre. It finished fresh but with lingering fruit ripeness, as apple notes turned darker & sweeter with lemon and lime sensations slowly fading. In the context of the vintage, this wine finds a perfect balance between ripeness and vibrancy.

Pee on a gooseberry. Really good acidity. Great food wine

Crisp acidity with grapefruit and hint of gooseberry and herbs. Nice quaffable juice.

A good, round sauv blanc, with limey citrus and gooseberry, with some richer lemon curd notes and herbs. Not quite tropical, but this is quite ripe. I like this wine, and it's dependable vintage to vintage.

Reserved and delicate with a sense of sea breeze and lemon mist.

Competent Sancerre - lemony, tart, slight green edge, grapefruit.

Sweet nose of lemons, grapefruit and pears; nice acidity with citrus flavors, lemon zest, minerals, and a vegetal green bean note; zesty finish, with pears at the very end.

nose: very good nose with tones of wet stones, sea shells, and mellow tones of peaches taste: really nice light feel with good medium/high acidity and tasty tones of minerals, wet stones, sea breeze tones and bits of peaches overall: a real nice and classic sancerre. Excellent acidity to allow it to go with food perfectly and to really refresh at anytime

I think I like this better than the Marechal Sancerre we had last night, although both are winners. The fruit and the solid acidity are perfectly balanced. This is one refreshing drink. More than a touch of the characteristic citrus of sauv. blanc, with a spicy, herbal nose, and a mildly tropical finish. Just delicious.
