Purchased for $15. A blend of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Alicante Bouschet from the Douro. This is a relatively straight forward, easy drinking red with notes of red fruits.... pomegranate, red cherry and a red floral note. Not much in the way of black fruit. Juicy acidity and balanced tannin. It went well with the cheese. Grade: B+

A mix of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Alicante Bouchet, which sees 12 months in French oak. Clear ruby red, on the nose this is quite inviting with juicy, floral red berries and wood spice. Crunchy red fruits and brisk acidity on the palate. Carries the 14pc abv without seeming heavy at all, and finishes with relatively gentLe tannins. Lacks the depth to score higher but this is a pleasant and food friendly wine.

60% Touriga Nacional, 20% Touriga Franca, 20% Tinta Roriz. The nose is not very aromatic, yet complex; there are spices, cedar, blackberry and red cherry. Full bodied and silky with an intense fruit flavor. Jammy attack; this wine has a load of fat plum and blackberry followed by notes of spice. Some licorice and vanilla coming out later on the finish and lingering for a good minute. The tannins are quite soft and the acidity low, making it feel out …

superb in short... dazzling nose includes blueberry, plums, black cherry, wet stones, graphite and spice. Full throttled on the palate with plenty of dark fruits, earth and peppery spices. Long lingering finish! Excellent with a Lamb roast... Well done... will seek more of this out!

Softer and more subtle than I would have expected (which is a good thing, considering some of the oaky beast wines I've had from Douro) with soft tannins, this wine was a fantastic accompaniment to lamb with moroccan spices in a plum reduction sauce. Would certainly buy again at this price. Not quite expressive enough to warrant 90+, but with a bit more bottle age, some of the acidity should tone down and this may well be 90-92 points in …

Abrimos a noite com um Don Melchor para em seguida tomá-lo. Superou nossa expectativa e elegemos o vinho da noite. Zeca / Silvia / Caio / Luli

Not as bold as I first envisioned, but it was smooth due to aging, showed good flavor depth, and nice color and nose.

Thick, inky maroon in the glass. Nose is full of spicy currants, cherries, and hot pepper jelly. Delayed reaction on the palate of choclatey raspberries, raw cranberries and a hit of leather. Very tannic when first openened, but softened right up pretty quickly.
