Titus, Zinfandel, Napa Valley

Very nice surprise based on recent reviews. Good fruit, but not a slap in the face. Balanced, smooth with just a hint of tannins on the back end. We like it!

Exactly like earlier bottles......delivers a classic Zinfandel experience. Also, delivers an experience I would expect to require a higher price point. Only one bottle left.

A light garnet coloring when poured; A nose of dark fruit, blackberry, with some herbal notes. A bit light on the finish for a zin. Good, not great!

During the Liars dice tourney in Simi Valley we had three wines - 2017 Prisoner, 2010 Fluer de Liss Bordeaux, 2015 Titus Napa Zin. From memory - Prisoner was very soft and approachable. I said in a tasting note from back in December that this was a great wine, but had a style that was somewhat like a Cab, rather than a Zin. This bottle exhibited more of a traditional Zin experience. Perhaps the shipping, which was a couple of weeks before the first tasting, had something to do with all of this. No matter, it was a crowd pleaser at a restaurant.

A very interesting wine. Drinking well right now. I agree with another reviewer that this one tastes somewhat like a Cabernet Sauvignon..….like a Zinfandel with backbone rather than being overly fruity.

Fairly volatile nose—definitely can detect the alcohol. Very pretty bluish-purple color. Lots of red fruit on the tip of the tongue. Unfortunately, much more jammy than I like. The acid and tannin are overcome buy the unfortunate front fruit in this wine.

This was huge improvement over my first bottle. Was outstanding right from the bottle on opening. Sweet Zinfandel fruit but on a perfectly balanced structure with just the right amount of acidity to keep the jam at bay.

Wow. Tar, smoke, berries, vanilla. It's clearly not a cab but seems like a Zinfandel for cab drinkers. Thick and well extracted. This a great wine and excellent PQR.

This is a fresh bright Zin. Round and soft with nice berry and pepper flavors. Very nice!

Dark crimson color, earthy, dark fruit nose. Very fruit forward, not a long finish and low acid level. Very drinkable alone or with fatty foods. Not spicy, so neutral foods work best.

A bit over fruity to my taste, I find it difficult to match with food or sip because it is so rich. Still, it has some tannin to counter the fruit so perhaps with some berry pies.

Retailer tasting (Vianen) : Sweet and ripe berry fruits in the bouquet. On the palate silky soft ripe red as well as dark forest fruits. Ok acidity and soft tannin. A full bodied and mouth filling wine. The 15.9 ABV shows a bit, but is not really disturbing.

Nice fruit - light tannins but more oomph than your usual Zinfandel. Longer finish than expected with some chocolate and raisin on the palate. Very pleasant.

As purple as an eggplant smeared with grape jelly. Subtle aroma of tart fruit with some booziness overshadowing any secondary bouquet. Jammy, bright flavors at the forefront, but lacks full concentration and finish. Just OK.

Restaurant pop and pour ... Beautiful nose, classic Zin bouquet. The juice itself was too flat and sweet to be outstanding, though this is reliable performer, none-the-less. Smooth, with some richness, but lacks backbone/structure and, at around $25/bottle retail and $65 on the wine list, no longer a really good QPR. Just too many other better, $20 Cali Zinfandel bottles out there.

Colour - Redish purple, some gradation. Nose - interesting. Ample fruit. Palette - Definitely zinfandel. A tad on the harsh side, relative to other better zins that I have tasted. Abit bitter. Fruity midpalette, but bitter on the finish. Score on openning - 87. Improved to an 88 after decant and 90 the next day. But this wine just does not have the finesse or delicacy of other better wines.

Great balance in the nose! It's not overly jammy or peppery. Nice blueberry, plum and tomato left. The 15% petit sirah adds richness and balance and it makes for a great zinfandel! Very nice red and black fruit. Great structure and balance of brush, pepper, fruit without being over extracted. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 10/2/10

Easy drinker; lots of fruit, not much typical spice, light on the tannins.

A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark ruby red in color. A big but not over the top Zin, blackberry, plum, cherries and Asian spice, a big tart on finish, should of decanted since I believe this wine with age well and was young to drink, will get better with age, a solid enjoyable Zinfandel, will try again in six months.

Fun to drink but not to keep. Rather raisiny, low acid but quite forward fruit without too much tannin. Pleasant oak. If you own this one don't keep it, enjoy it now.
