This is a good bottle of red for wine novices. I received this as a gift from a thrifty relative who thinks that Dark Horse wines are the bomb. The color is deep Purple, and the nose is very assertive. The wine itself is both Jammy and Raisiny at the same time. Not my type of wine, but not bad for $9.

Deep garnet color in glass. 14.5% alcohol. Lots of ripe fruit on palate with soft tannins and low acidity. Lip smacking finish. Not bad for $8.99.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells of dark fruit such as blackberry with hints of black pepper. It tastes jammy with raisin and light flint and spice. The body is full. The wine has coarse texture and is loaded with alcohol. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity.
