Opened about 1 hour prior to drinking but not decanted. Deep garnet-red color fading substantially at the rim. On the nose this is all about cola, cherry cola, with a bit of earth. The palate impression is similar with ample fruit and acidity but no real complexity or balance. I find the wine clumsy and rather simple. Not bad but not to my taste.

Still nice translucent ruby. Very Oregon nose with barely ripe stone fruit. Probably past prime on its palate but still nice. Super duper mellow. Waterfalls dampening earth and some cinnamon . Cherry cola and rhubarb. Medium plus finish expanding after a couple of hours of air. . Clearly strong sense of place.

12/2/2022: 30 minute decant moved the wine from high acid to a lovely softer strawberry open, medium weight, light finish. The bottle drank well, though clearly toward the end of it's run, as the floral/fruit notes began to disappear over an hour and a half.

Tasted blind. Beautiful, classic, fruit driven New World Pinot nose of strawberries, cherries, and cloves. Good balance between acidity, fruit, and tannins. Long finish. Drinking perfectly right now and while it's not crazy complex, it's super enjoyable.

Valentimes at Sante Fe Grill w/ Elizabeth. Really drinking nicely right now. Still lots of dark cherry fruit on the palate, light tannin. Not earthy, not any real maturity to speak of. Has a little savory kick to the aromas. Very suave drink, without being too rich. Medium bodied, medium ruby, with a little tanning to the rim. Lots of life ahead, I’d say drink to 2028. A little crust on the cork, and light sediment.

Darker ruby color. Nose of fresh cut berry, plum pits, violets, hints of cinnamon. More black fruited than red, yielding layers of raspberry and black cherry on a slightly extracted, stony frame with a bit of oak showing. Nice acidity and firm tannins leading to a medium length finish of dark fruits, iodine, and stone. Could age nicely for another 5-8 years yet.

My only bottle, and glad I waited to open. This is an honest to goodness Willamette Valley Pinot. Slightly spicey, red fruitfruit, earth and lift. Still very fresh and generous 10 years post vinetage.

Deep garnet-ruby color with moderate fading, but no browning, at the rim. Nose very tight, almost to the point of being completely dead, on the first evening and had opened little by day two. Equally closed on the palate on the first day but very complex and rich, with a long finish, on day two. Impeccably balanced and once this comes out of its shell it should be magnificent. Reminiscent to me of a great Volnay at about the same …

A Ten Year Tasting: Wines of 2008 (Primarily Oregon Pinot Noir & Ringers) - Graciously hosted by Grinner: Flight Three of Five - Wine 4: Another lovely Oregon Pinot Noir, featuring delightful expressions of place, texture, and quality. Leaning to the Old World style, balanced, and long.

The Lyon 10 Year Tasting: 2008 Oregon Pinot Noir (Lyon Den) : Lighter color than most here but the "sweet" deep fruit and savory elements pull you back again and again. 91 on day 2.

Agree with Grarambler. Big, fruity and rich. Crowd pleaser. Had it with burgers. People loved it. Not my preferred style but very enjoyable. Still has a couple more yrs but drinking well. Side note: I bought a bunch of 2008 Oregon pinots based on the hype. Most I opened too early. Now they really are terrific and this is a great example of a bigger more fruit forward wine from that vintage.

Friends shared this with us when we stopped by on 9/8/17. It had a big, rich, fruity bouquet of cherry, raspberry and baking spice aromas. The palate was rich and dry with flavors of black cherry, raspberry, tea and baking spice. 91+

My favorite in the three wine dessert flight at Michael Anthonys in Hilton Head. This is just unctuous, but not in an overpowering way. Lots of red fruits. Reasonable acidity. Really stood out. Was a great taste of sweet. Not scoring here, but I'd say the 74 is on the low side. This is prob a high 80's wine for me.

Beautiful Pinot. Very well balanced , I would not have guessed 2008 if I was tasting this blind. A lot of 2008's are more fruit forward than this Pinot. Gorgeous wine.

Awesome pinot. It was seamless and silky. Beautiful cherry, dark cherry and strawberry with creamy note. Some light spices and good spine of fine tannins and acidic brightness. Drank really we'll over two days.

Decanted 1 hour and consumed over 5 hours. Head-to-head against the '08 Adelsheim Willamette Valley PN. Good to go after an hour, but didn't change much over the evening. Nice strawberry and cream notes, but for a $50 reserve, seemed a little weak on the nose and not much complexity for the $. Actually pretty comparable to the WV blend at nearly half the price. Maybe hold through 2014 to see if it picks up.

Opened it 2 days before drinking and kept in the wine fridge. Still tart and with little complexity to the fruit. This wine like many of the 2008 vintage is in a funk and should be left alone for at least 2 more years. No bouquet beyond a heavy tobacco

This is the attempt to make it much more Pinot Noir like. Or 2008 is the attempt to make it more Pinot Noir like. 57% is still in the classic "fake" ice wine style, the other is from this odd experiment in handling the juice, which gives it more of a cherry fruit component. Only as ripe as the Pinot and it doesn't go through malo. So with the sugar very tough, with the sugar quite beautiful.
