Popped and poured, gave small aeration with seive. Fine sediment. Orange hue. Mature Barolo once again in a prime spot. Tannins not too big but present. Lots of soft cherries with good secondaries, beautiful nose, and in a great place tonight. Went well with homemade roasted veggie pasta sauce. Need to buy more of these aged Barillas to restock my celler. Still rocking on night two with it only being recorked.

Opened by Mark. Brick red color. Lightly sedimented. Not decanted but opened an hour before drinking. A dry Barolo with tart red fruit, cactus and and an earthy finish. Moderate tannins. Really nice and more forward than the 2001 Barolo Vecchia Vigne that we drank alongside this. 92 points.

Similar to, and just as good as the 07 Vigna Giachini we had two months ago. Dark, tarry and delicious. Should drink on this plateau for quite a while.

Pnp table-side so no decant. Cork pristine. Min fine sediment. Beautiful nose soft red fruits, some earth and mushrooms. Classic palate of a mature Barolo, still lots of fruit. Tannins still big and almost hindering the pleasure quotient. Still a good Barolo experience pared with Italian cuisine. Hold for short term versus open w decant.

Definitely takes some time to open up, but then the wine shows its potential: blackcurrant and sweet cherry fruit on the nose, along with beautiful floral notes of lilac and eucalyptus. In addition some smoke and vanilla. Actually quite complex and very lovely I thought. On the palate with a medium body and mineral notes. Fine tannins, good freshness, descent finish. Can't quite agree with the reviews here on CT! This a good barolo. Drink now.

Fellow Oenophiles: Is there an Italian wine that is elegant and full bodied with gripping tannins? That isn't acidic and/or doesn't taste like chewing a barrel stave? I give up.

Very nice mature Barolo. Cherries and prune on the nose, soft tannins and cherries and strawberries on the palate, nice finish. Plenty of fruit left but close to peak IMO. Enjoy !!!

Good showing, really enjoyable wine. Had at a restaurant so it didn't have the proper time to breathe. It still is in its youth and can probably go another 5-10 years. Wasn't as complex as other barolos I've had from 07, but this certainly won't disappoint.

Yes, big for a Barolo, but really nice. Nose especially, deep currant.

Decanted for over two hours. I must admit that I've never been a fan of Italian wines. With this wine's high critical scores, I thought there might be an exception. Alas, this Barolo fell far short of my expectations. Fruit was there, but this mid-weight wine was somewhat woody and acidic, totally devoid of any tannins.

Wonderful, dried flowers, red stone fruit. More evolved then I expected, drinking like it is at it's peak, what a delight!

Made in a more modern style that is a bit outside my comfort zone, although still enjoyable; This wine is quite full-bodied and rich, with a dense palate of cherries, vanilla, and smoke; Clearly made in a more full-throttle style, with the alcohol on the finish detracting from the wine somewhat; This could use a few more years to round out the rough edges, although I don't think it will be a particularly long-lived Barolo

First one of these in just over three years, from a case purchased in early 2012. Still quite dark in color for a Barolo. A semi-opaque, deep purple in color - almost the color of eggplant skin - lightening a bit at the edge. Absolutely beautiful on the nose. So expressive, offering powerful, complex aromas of ripe, sweet cherries, earth, vanilla and spice. Full-bodied and incredibly rich. Almost syrupy in texture. Bursting with ripe, delicious cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit. …

Outstanding. Will last another 10 years. Dark cherry, mushroom, leather. Had with steak, gnocci with browned butter and truffle oil and was perfect.

Really gorgeous 07 Barolo. Leather, smoke, hint of cherries, just delicious. 91-92 on day 1 & 2, 93 on day 3. Give lots of air if you can and enjoy.

Deep rustic purple color with a nose of blackberry, camphor and some floral undertones. Initial flavor of plum and more dark fruit with hint of tobacco/forest on the finish. Tannins are well structured and will improve with age, which will also take off the slight heat of this wine.

This improved as it decanted, which shouldn't be a huge surprise. Light with dry tannins. Neutral red that isn't overpowering. Easy drinking Barolo.

very good. did not change markedly over a 3 hour decant, although there was a gamey flavor that washed over the mid palette initially that wasn't present in the finish. lots of spice and fruit with an excellent finish. very clean, big, and polished, improved after 2 days in the fridge under cork.

A very light Barolo which would have been good at half the price but is a bad deal at over $40. Nothing that stands out here. A couple hours open does help.

Plush and intense aromatics of cinnamon, grilled plums, licourice, menthol and a touch of asphalt. In the mouth there is a feel of menthol which may be the alcohol, which is a touch assertive. Alongside this there is also plenty of dark black fruits. Sweeet spices and char...lingering notes of blueberry round out the finish...although this wine is a touch hot it has incredible depth of fruit for its category. An assertive effort that i applaud.

Had to open one of these after seeing the WS 95 point score. This definitely needs a good 2 hour+ decanting. Once it opens up, this shows a beautiful Nebbiolo nose of ripe, sweet cherries, vanilla and spice. Powerful and full-bodied, but not as tannic or heavy as I might have expected from a young Barolo with 15% ABV. Lots of dark berries and maraschino cherries on the palate, along with hints of chocolate and licorice on the long, silky …

This wine, for a real barolo newbie like myself, is likely to be my barolo epiphany wine. This wine is rich, focused, sweet, structured, balanced, textured, well-oaked, and above all, incredibly delicious. It is quite tannic but its flavor profile is on full display, so do not be afraid to pop one open. I really am struggling to reconcile this drinking experience because I dare say that I enjoy this wine more than I have some pretty special Bordeauxs, and …

- Crimsom color - Nice color, crimson and nose....flavors of berries....mostly red but some dark notes. Little bit of plum or stewed tomatoes. Very approachable at this early stage. Probably not one of the 07's that will be still drinking well in 5-10 years. Almost Barbera like Barolo.....definitely new style with oak presence.

Epson Imports Pre-Arrival 2007 Barolo and 2006/7 Brunellos (Liner & Elsen, Portland OR) : Very fruit forward and modern on the nose. Plenty of stewed berry fruit and spice. The fruit and spice profile is almost closer to that of a lighter Zinfandel than a Nebbiolo. Very soft on the palate and fairly elegant, but definitely very smoothed out tannins; massive fruit, soft apples, and red berry stew. The tannins definitely seem to be unnaturally destroyed here, as this is …

Shows the same style as the Barbera. A bit refermenting right now too, or at least showing the sever shakes. Just shipped in country, probably need some time. I will hold off judgement.
