NOSE: Overripe pineapple, overripe banana, raisins steeped in rum, wood fire smoke, vanilla, hot chocolate with cream, licorice, aniseed, lily of the valley. Nice. (88p) TASTE: Still quite fruity, with elements similar to what’s found on the nose. On the mid palate the same saltiness, wood, light bitterness, sweet ashes and minerality as before. Fiery with a sweet touch. (86p) EXIT: Smoked pineapple with some freshly cracked black pepper. (85p). TOTAL SCORE 86 POINTS.

A blend of Clarendon and Long Pond pot still rums, with a first maturation in ex-bourbon casks in Jamaica and a second maturation in Ferrand ex-Cognac casks in France. 43% ABV. NOSE: Fat/rich/waxy. Sweet pineapple fruit (smelling the outside of an overripe pineapple before opening it). Sweet smokiness. Really lovely nose. (89-90p) TASTE: The arrival is smokey-fruity. The fruitiness continues onto the mid palate, where there is also saltiness, wood, light bitterness, sweet bonfire ashes and some minerality. Not perfectly …

Nez très présent. Rhum parfumé avec l’alcool très présent. Très peu raffiner. Pas mon type de rhum.
