Blue Rock Cabernet Sauvignon

Very nice! At it's peak.

This is serviceable and nice, but not anything special. Straight-forward currant and blue fruit.

Near peak right now. Still has loads of blue fruit and currant with well-integrated oak and a complex finish of licorice, chocolate and spice.

The wine was decanted a full hour but little did I know that it needed an hour more. We started drinking it, enjoying the nice bouqet and ripe fruit, and the sweet decently long finish. The mid-palate was a bit rough, sort of not integrated with the rest of the wine. Perhaps a bit briary or edgy on the palate. I do not think it was due to tannin. So at that point, I am thinking "nice cab' but only …

This is consistently one of the best under $50 cabs from California. The 2002 is really humming right now with softer tannis but still tons of grip, packed with fruit, mocha nad licorice. Too bad I am down to my last bottle since this will go strong for another decade.

Opened and poured into the huge Reidel Bordeaux glass and left for an hour. Still too young but showing great promise. Intense fruit concentration, and lenghty albeit tannic finish.
