Been a long time since I've had a NZ pinot. Forest floor with berry notes on the nose. Medium minus body with cranberry and sour cherry notes accented with black tea and spicy oak. Medium + acid. Didn't know what to expect, as I was seeing 3-5 years for aging potential. Pleasantly surprised.

Opened and poured immediately. Light maroon colour. Lovely fresh fruit on the nose, plums, cranberries, charcoal. The palate is fresh, fruity and vibrant, medium length. Drinking perfectly now.

This bottle shared with friends over dinner to accompany roast poussin. This was the third pinot noir tasted, following the more expensive English Gusbourne and French Volnay, however this was well received. Full of fruit, though clearly now more mature than when I last tasted. An excellent wine from Matt Dicey's winery. I'm looking forward to tasting some of his later vintages of this wine.

Similar to previous note, but this time adds a little earth tone in there, forest or evergreen, and more structure than before. Leaning more to Burgundy than last taste. Finish has a sour fruit thing, sour cherry or plum. Nice value choice.

Medium nose shows black cherry, tea leaf, orange peel, raspberry, rose petals. Palate shows nice presentation of juicy acidity, fresh fruit matches nose, cherry, potpourri, raspberry, baking spice, clove. Very smooth, fruit driven finish does well. Nice example of region.

Bright crimson in color, this wine reveals muted black cherry, mint, pomegranate as well as dried sage on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied and brought more spices as well as earthy, mushroom undertones to the fruit. The finish was medium in length with pleasant acidity and brought the dark fruits and spices together seamlesslly. 14.0% abv. Purchased for $22US, this is a well made, enjoyable offering that has no hard edges but not a lot of complexity. …

Light ruby red colour. Orange peel and caramel nose. The palate shows a nice balance of young fruit with hints of maturity, cherries and strawberries, good length and well balanced. Held well over 2 hours. A lovely bottle which should be good for 2 to 3 years.

Very good. Lovely nose of soft red fruit, and a bit of mulch. On the palate more fruit & underneath a slightly green vegital note. Light medium body. Not overly complex but pleasurable. Medium length.

Delicious and tart and straight, high aromatics on day two. Works it out at $25 or so.

Dark fruits on the nose but on initial tasting some harsh tannins dominated the palate. After 2 hours of standing, tannins had mellow, cocoa, cherry, some acidity but balance not quite right. For Mt difficulties standards, this was disappointing.

Dark bing cherry nose, little bit of spice, full bodied, lingering finish, hint of oak, well balanced. Bit of a hot finish.

Red fruits, spices/pepper, fair amount of oak being borderline too much. Med+ acidity. Fruit is not overly ripe or sweet. Improves after 1 hour aeration.
