This really grew legs after the first night, & was killing it on night #2 with its dense core of blue fruit framed by sandalwood. Best bottle of the three, it will have me re-opening a closed door to the PBB catalog again.

Slightly better out of the gate than that 1st bottle drunk.

I was a swing-voter here, as this took me several nights to formulate a final opinion. Bit of a bitter & green streak at its core early, which threw me off ... but it was singing by the final sip, and landed in a great place. I just wish Kyle's wines were priced more rightly, say 20% lower (auction grab here at $36).

Happy surprise. An easy and polite house guest.

90 minute decant. Big, boozy legs. Nose of pungent dried and fresh herbs that hide bluberry and boysenberry fruit underneath. Fleshy black fruit, black plum, and damson fruit seems full of grape skin and grape leaves. Finish turns austere, with black fruits and firm tannins marred by a pronounced bitterness. Some chicory and bay leaf show up at the end. Seems like this wine is trying to have a Northern Rhone character but doesn't get there. It's missing the Syrah …

PnP and drank on its own. Dark fruits and a heavy hit of earth, mint, and dried herbs. Smoky dark red fruits with toffee, coffee, and dried rosemary on a chewy blueberry backbone. Firm tannins, black fruit, stones, and a bit of a bitter coffee grounds on the rich finish. A nice brooding wine but maybe not the best QPR.

Drank over two nights. Good on night one, but better on night 2. Will buy more!
