Dinner at protege in Palo Alto Brilliant crimson purple. Dark fruit and toasted cedar in the nose. BlackBerry pie, and some faint gaminess lifted by both acidity and minerality. Muted tannins. Not a wine of depth but deeply enjoyable nevertheless.

Nese med tranbær, litt mørkere bærtyper og vanilje. Med + intensitet. Kirsebær, tranebær, litt skogbunn. Kompleks smak. Fin intensitet, lite tanniner og medium alkohol. Høy syre. Lang ettersmak. Fantastisk god vin

Candied cherry, rich bright and mid bright berry bouquet. Touches of bubble gum-like fruit that, while rich, is still quite subtle and bright. Touches of tea leaf. Incredible concentration for an entry-level Pinot. Palate is much more structured than what the nose implies. Bright red fruit and tart berries. Great concentration. Good bit of mid-palate grip on the tannins that are quite velvety. Finishes very delicately with very bright acidity that leaves a clean tart finish in the mouth. Simple …

This was absolutely outstanding wine. I wish I had a dozen more. Fantastic bright expression of Pinot noir with the perfect level of tannin and acidity, great for drinking now.

Structured red and blue fruits, with an excellent finish. Still showing its baby fat, as it needs time to shed its extroverted structure, but very high potential here. The 40% whole cluster comes though and adds structure and "stuffing" to this wine. Give it a year or more and/or a good decant to fully appreciate it. Very nice. 93++

Sonoma and Napa Tastings - June 2024; 6/13/2024-6/15/2024 : Aromas of fig, sandalwood, hibiscus, leather and allspice. Great complexity to the palate, showing tea, fig, black cherry, red florals, five spice and earth. Refined and elegant, with a mineral underpinning to the middle palate. Taut acid, fine tannins, full complext finish.

A complex bounty of red and purple fruit flavors and ripeness levels, from cranberry to red cherry, to ripe black raspberry. The fruit is bright and fresh, while also having density. The subtle vanilla, baking spice, and toast from the oak is a perfect compliment to the fresh ripe fruit, playing a supporting role. M++ intensity. M body. M+/H acid. M soft polished tannins. All of the components are in harmony. Very long finish. Pale ruby color. Outstanding.

Purchased at auction, it’s light and flighty with a paradoxical amount of viscosity and structure in the mouth. The nose in the nose (the weak part) is a bit reticent for the package, but the nose in the mouth is good, and the length is very very good with a persistent, tasty finish.

A little bit of a crumbling cork problem but delicious after that. Red fruits, nice and bright. Years ahead of it still...

I opened this wine at cellar temperature and tasted intermittently as it warmed up. The initial impression was of black cherry, and as it warmed a Burgundian steeliness predominated. Extremely well balanced, and I'm sad that this is my last bottle of the 2010.

Oh the difference a bottle makes or maybe it's my mood or the food or who knows. Taste profile of the last bottle, but much more satisfying. This is more like the Cobb I remember.

Well made but perhaps a little too delicate (evanescent?) for my own rather delicate tastes in pinot.

so close to burgundy in style it may even fool some into thinking it's oregon!

Excellent wine. Such pure strawberry fruit with good freshness, framed by a deft kiss of oak. Only a hint of the cola impression that dominates so many Sonoma Coast, and CA Pinot's. Hope to revisit this down the line, though this doesn't act like it wants long term aging.

West of West Wine Festival (West Sonoma Coast Vintners) (City Winery - Chicago IL) : Tasting, brief note. My favorite of the three Cobbs tasted. Strawberry, raspberry, red cherry with floral and spice hints and some earth hints. Good concentration and length with elegant tannins. Very good.
